My new job got me feeling like,

Belgrades by Battle Tapes

---

I didn't even know there's a second season for this show until now.

I don't listen to lyrical music all that often, preferring instrumental by a very large margin. That being said, there is one lyrical song in particular that's been stuck in my head for the better part of 2 weeks now. This song was actually created specifically as a way to send a hidden message to soldiers in the South American country of Colombia who were being held captive in a prison camp by militants who opposed the country's government. The message was hidden in Morse code that plays 3 times in the song. The song is in Spanish, so I'll include the translated lyrics as well. Hidden message and hidden meanings aside, it still is a great song.

When I'm in the middle of the night
Thinking about what I want most
I feel like singing
What my heart has to give

I speak of those I love
How much I miss them
I speak of pride and strength
That beats inside my heart

A new dawn singing this message from my heart
Even though I'm just tied up, I'm sitting next to you, listen to this message brother
[message starts] .---- ----. / .-.. .. -... . .-. .- -.. --- ... --..-- / ... .. --. ..- . -. / ..- ... - . -.. . ... .-.-.- / .- -. .. -- --- (19 liberados, siguen ustedes. Animo = 19 rescued, you're next. Don't lose hope) [message ends]

I want to keep fighting
For my friends, my family, my children
Soon we will see each other again
I'm sure, better days are coming

A new dawn singing this message from my heart
It is this song that takes me by the hand, listen to this message brother
(19 rescued, you're next. Don't lose hope)
(x2)
