What sorts of things brighten your day?

From a realistic perspective
Not being bothered by random friend requests
Not getting people rage out on me randomly after simple disagreements
Not being ghosted out of nowhere
And most importantly no random friend requests out of nowhere did i mentioned that already? lol ok now from another side of things in a hobbyist point of view i'd say splurging on anime, games and manga easy as that and also merch too for series i really am into.

You ask what sorts of things brighten my day? Well, I'll give you a hin- not you... *pushes you outta the way* YOU, over there! 👈🤵 The bundle of silliness of the day! 🤭 Yeah you! Don't "i dunno what'cha talkin' about" me! 😉 You wanna know what brightens my day? You need look no further than at the end of your wrists there. You see those? 👐 Both of 'em and all 10 fingers they got there? Yeah those. 🖐️🖐️ Those brighten up my day. ❤️ So much so, I've wr- are people still reading this??? 😳 *looks around* Anyway, so much so, I've written a sonnet about 'em! 😁 I'll do you all a favor and hide this one in a spoi- naaahhh, I won't, lol. 😂 You asked me what brightens up my day and I have every write! I mean... every RIGHT to write about what makes me happy, huh? 😠 Sit down and give it a listen. Maybe you'll feel your day brightens up a little too. 🌞 I wouldn't blame you. Unfortunately for me, this isn't even the fullest I can express my sentiments on those hands, but a sonnet has a strict format, so here it goes! Just... *shoos at the air* 👋 Move over, yeah? I'm trying to see the subject of my admiration here! 👈🤵 Theeere she is... Hiiii! 👋😀 ... Heeeyyy... 👈👈😉 .... 😙 OH. 🙊 Right... AHEM....

I would rub your every knuckle with my thumb.
I would kiss your slender fingers with my lips.
I would gently bite and you would feel my tongue.
I would flirt my mouth with all your finger tips.

I would squeeze your hand until your hand goes numb.
I would press my hands on yours against your hips.
I would hold your hand all night 'till morning come.
I would wake up from my sleep if our hand slips.

Let me hold your precious hand
and give it all the love it needs.
Wrap our fingers like a band
or reassuring rosary beads.
And I pray you understand
how holding hands with you brings ease.

Since you posted this on Monday, and it is now Saturday I conclude that I am either the only who read this, or... people are  still reading it 😆

Was this written about me? It was wasn't it? Right?

Seriously, very romantic (and obviously not about me). Good stuff Man.

Certain smells can do that for me. Like if I smell wood burning it brings me back to when I am in camp during a Civil War reenactment. Sitting by a campfire and talking/catching up with the company that I am part of because sometimes we go a whole year or months before the next event, the smell of food cooking on the fire, the battle skits, all the musicians. A lot of memories can hit me at once when I smell the wood smoke and they are good memories for the most part.

Does that count?

- Waking up to the smell of leaves in the Autumn or right after it rains is amazing.

- When it rains outside right before bed and you can hear it falling on the roof is such a pleasant way to fall asleep.

- Finally beating a tricky part of a video game.

- When autumn leaves have just fallen down.

- Eating at the same awesome restaurant you frequent and having your favorite item on the menu.

- Finding a book that just really clicks with you.

I do Civil War reenactments a few times a year. They are events that usually take up a full weekend and sometimes a 3+day weekend depending on the scenario. We set up camp with our unit/on the Union or Confederate side and that's where we stay for the entire event. Our tents are canvas and period correct. It repels water rather well and hearing rain pitter-patter on the tent when I am sleeping at night is a very soothing sound. Granted I would rather it not rain when I am doing a battle on the field because wet wool uniforms are a pain in the butt, but when I am sleeping it is very relaxing lol.

Also when it rains and your musket gets wet so now the blackpowder won't go off is also a pain. Love hearing it bead off a tent at night though!

Henohenomoheji. It’s a face drawn with the hiragana charcters he, no, mo, and ji.
Whenever I see one, I feel so giddy. Before I knew what they were called, I remembered first seeing them on the internet a couple times, or at least once when seeing a gif of Blanca (who is drawing herself one in her Dobutsu no Mori eCard). Eventually I saw one in a video and wanted to know if they had a name, so I looked in the comments and found an explanation! They’re just so cute and clever. I love leaving them in public places too if there’s a good opportunity. Usually that means testing pads at art/stationery stores or whiteboards. Once I even drew one on my plate with leftover jam for the waiter to see (if they did lol). An online friend drew one too! I encourage you to go out and draw some as well ^^ There are other variations you can make with other characters, and it has a little French math cousin called Tête à Toto, which helped inspire me to make an English version, OaaLu!

- When I am satisfied with what I ate
- No traffic
- Having fair weather
- When I get to make new friends

-When people other than my family talk to me in a nice manner, even if briefly.

-Genuine Compliments from strangers.

-My cats.

-Getting something new that I was excited for.

-Discovering a new interest.

That's what I can think of at the moment.

Plenty of stuff! From the top of my head, I'm grateful when:
  • I'm alone and no one can disturb me
  • I enjoy a good meal
  • I learn that someone has similar interests to mine
  • I pass a test (especially a huge one like the finals)
  • Someone compliments me
  • I decide to be kind
  • All my homework is finished for the day
  • I get to eat french fries
  • I drink milk (I'm too young to consume coffee)
  • I finish crocheting something
  • I find a new song to add to my playlist
  • An online friend replies to me
  • My art commission is finished
  • I spend time with family during reunions
  • I get through a big hurdle in life if I come across one
  • And finally, my current hyper-fixation... Kieran!!!
Looks like this thread reappeared so I'll be updating this! :D About the last part: I'm not as hyperfixated on Kieran as I was when I posted this but since he's still my favorite character he does brighten my day. (•ᴗ•)

And I want to add on to one of my points as well. I like it when someone replies to me online. And if this someone is my partner, I'll be happier! I just love thinking about them too because they've been so kind to me and I can relate with them in many ways. 🥰💭 I also get all giddy when they stumble upon some random post of mine and react to that...watch. They'll find it later. I know it.
