• Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.

What to you use to draw with?

I owned a bamboo tablet i think it was called for awhile but i prefer the traditional method of just a sketchbook, pencils, and line art pens

i don't draw too much traditional, mostly doodles
for the most part i draw with a bamboo tablet and paint tool sai

I just sketch, and it's usually flowing things like branches or koi. So I use a simple mechanical pencil.

I draw traditionally with a sketchbook and pencil and lately have been using pencil crayons (of which I just bought around 75 - 100!!! --- always gotta go to the extreme!) ... I then take a picture of my sketch and upload it to my iPad and my favourite app, ibispaint!
I transform it to digitally coloured art and save it as a jpg ... in Ibispaint I use a simple capacitive stylus or my finger to draw, trace shade and colour.
Works for me!
Going to try this ... wish me luck!

Whenever I draw, I grab a piece of paper, draw out whatever I'm drawing in pencil, ink it in with a pen, and then color in with coloring pencils. Or if I'm on the go, I'll use my sketchbook app and draw whatever. I prefer paper and pencil though. It feels more natural.

pencil, charcoal, pen and ink and then I transfer onto the computer and fiddle with kyle's photoshop brushes (an illustrator's wet dream).

Markers! They have always been my preferred medium. They don't smear (usually) and they're my favourite for thick bold lines. I wish i was one for paint because i like the way it feels when you connect brush to paper but i suck terribly at it and don't really have the eye for it.
