What were your favorite and least favorite parts of the most recent Direct?

Favorite: Terraforming! The two things I love the most about Animal Crossing is customization and collecting. So being able to customize more is exciting.

Least Favorite: Complete silence on the paid DLC front. Nintendo has been going bigger and bigger with this. I think this is going to happen. The upside is I have the feeling they won't do microtransactions. Any paid DLC will probably be a larger, worthwhile pack.

It'd just be nice to know what I'm getting into on that front before the game comes out, you know? It was obvious Smash was going to have DLC. But Pokemon was a big surprise. I'm starting to think we're probably getting some at some point though.

All hail the butt-hugging Bidet. XD

That is my favorite part about the NH web site. I did not expect that. lol!

honestly, my favourite part (if i have to choose) was the museum - my jaw literally dropped when i saw it; i thought new leaf had great graphics but new horizons is literally blowing me away and its not even out yet.

i didn?t have a least favourite part, but i guess the most uninteresting for me was the amiibo part, since i own no cards or figures

I felt like them saying ?yes there will be free updates? meant there wouldn?t be paid DLC? I agree it never said that outright though. But my takeaway from that was they had seen people talking about micro transactions and went ?there will be free updates? in response. Who knows though.

Personally I don?t think there was anything I didn?t like! I never used amiibos that much in the end so I probably won?t be using that often. And likewise I can?t see how I would have to use rescue services (unless I pole vault to a bit of my island and the pole breaks so I can?t get back). The museum and generally seeing the customisation was my highlight.

I can?t care less about the introduction of the DIY into the games so part 1 was my least favorite part. :X But I was very happy and surprised they finally listened to the community and let us choose the placement of buildings or make the villagers feel more alive. Those little animations and the changes of clothes make me hope they will feel as individuals again. I hope their dialogue will be as good as the GC or Wild World ones. New leaf was the worst on this case to me.
It just felt like talking to clones of a prototype personality over and over again regardless the species. I often found myself reading the same sentence or piece of dialogue twice on a regular day.
This direct gave me a little more hope !

I hope you're right, but it's hard to tell. They kinda locked themselves into providing free updates, at least for 1 year, because it sounds like many major holidays aren't included on the game as a default. (I still think that's for TT reasons.) But I could see them potentially doing paid DLC for other things. But there easily could be zero DLC. We just don't know either way.

I wouldn't of questioned it in the past because it feels like the designers of AC don't want that. But I just sense Nintendo is really pushing for DLC. It took them a while to see the light of how it could make them more money, but they see it now. Pokemon felt like another series that would never get DLC, but Sword/Shield now have so... Who knows?

Yes I agree, there?s no real way of knowing. I wonder what they would introduce if they did do paid DLC. Another island for us to inhabit? Maybe extra NPC characters to visit.

The only thing with Pokemon is we did kind of get DLC before.... in the form of updates games like Sun/Moon to Ultra Sun/Moon. Same basic game but with extra features to extend the play experience. Animal crossing has never really had an end game to require extending the play experience. But like I said, who even knows.
