What were your favorite events this year?

2024 was a big year for major TBT events, given that the 20th anniversary of this site was this year, Nintendo has shut down servers for the 3DS, new events were introduced, and past events made a comeback. We also seen collectible re-releases in a few events.

But if you can only choose a few events to be your favorites, which ones are your favorite events of the year and why?

1. Lunar New Year: It was new and it gave me one of my favourite collectibles sets. Dragons are objectively cool so theres that too

2. Time Portal Tragedy: It was a fun concept for a April Fools Day event. I also got to go into the future

3. Mushroom Season: Also because it was new and interesting. I love mushrooms too so the theme was great. There were also many neat and different mushroom collectibles that won't be seen until next Mushroom Season...I hope.

1. Farewell to New Leaf - As someone who joined this site back DURING the New Leaf days, I REALLY loved this event and everything that went on during this time. The collectibles were great, but even moreso the events were, and it was just a really memorable event for me. ACNL online is going to be missed.

2. Twenty Years on The Bell Tree - I really loved that not only were our past time capsule posts brought back, but we were allowed to make NEW ones as well. It was interesting and fun to read everyone else's, and insightful to see my past one as well. I don't think I'll be around here by the time the next time capsule event happens, but who knows!

3. TBT's Season of Gifting 2024 - I lowkey haven't participated in a lot of Christmas events on this site. Given that winter is my least favorite season and sometimes I'm not even here during this time, it means all the more to me that I get to participate more this time. More importantly, I absolutely LOVE that it's all for charity, especially as someone diagnosed with autism. This event is currently still ongoing, but so far I'm having a blast with it!

I missed some of these since I was just returning to tbt after a long hiatus and was still struggling with some stuff. Right now, I’d have to say my favorites are:

1. TBT World Championships 2024: I had so much fun since I had more of the games and could participate more as a result. The previous World Championships I only had Animal Crossing. I loved how everyone cheered each other on regardless what team and friend and acquaintance alike. Teammates were really understanding and kind win or lose and no matter how good or bad we did.
2. Mushroom Season: I enjoyed this one tremendously too; I was really happy with the collectibles since I missed out on the mush lamps from the first event they were introduced in. It was awesome to see everyone working together to identify the mushrooms. So many cute foraged mushrooms too. I’d love to see more of them as real collectibles.
3. Return of the Haunted Carnival: I was extremely burnt out for this one from the fair and got even more burnt out during this one but I had a lot of fun participating in this one. I tried digital drawing for the first time and got a decent grasp of it by the time I was done with my art entries. I was really happy with how I did with my acnh entry too.

I might add the season of giving to my list too. I’ve been really excited about this one since I missed out on most of them. I’m not feeling good right now, but I’m hoping to push through it and do most of the activities though. I’m most likely not going to do the baking one though.

Wow, I’ve actually been here for all except one, feels like just yesterday I joined
1. TBT World championships - it was so much fun and so nice to get to know some people.
2. TBT Fair - there were so many events!
3. Farewell to New Leaf - I didn’t participate all that much because I was new and clueless lol but it was nice to celebrate new leaf

Here’s my top three:

1. The Bell Tree Fair 2024 - like usual, the Bell Tree Fair triumphs over other events because of the contests and events, but special mentions go to the collectible rereleases and real life prizes. Granted, the ticket delays and event delays did happen, but it’s still the best of the year.
2. Farewell to New Leaf Online - aside to being a New Leaf-centered event, I got my perfect apples and won first place in the Discord Trivia session.
3. Time Portal Tragedy - it was fun reacting to posts by rewinding and fast forwarding posts. But what made me like this event more was that my join date was adjusted to the 1970’s. In other words, I got sent back to the 1970’s.

As for user-hosted events, my favorite one was Aquilla’s Bongo Party, where @Aquilla made bongo gif avatars for us.

The Bell Tree Fair was a lot of fun. There were so many different tasks and I loved the Canvas Crossing event. I hope it does come back, but maybe not right now because I feel like I wouldn't be able to give the 3 or more drawings the focus I'd want to give them with all the event tasks and just how Christmas is in general in being so busy. I did almost all of the tasks with the Birthday event and I normally don't do that or have the time. It was a very long event, but was a lot of fun!

Farewell to New Leaf. I loved all of the tasks in this one as well. It was a great way for all of us to say goodbye to it and I was happy to share my DA one last time because I put a lot of love into my town and homes.

TBTWC I just liked gaming with everyone. I took part in the 2021 version, but I was so new to the forum and just events in general that I didn't quite understand how any of it worked. So I didn't probably help my team out as much as I could so I wanted to change that with tbtwc 2024. Every team event I've took part in I came in dead last so it was nice to not get dead last for a 4th time. I'll take 2nd place lol. I love team events, but I feel like there's a balancing issue that is probably impossible to oversee.

April Fools and the Mushroom event were also a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed TBTWC this year. I loved being able to participate in the events with WiFi. The Mario Kart matches were great.

My favorite of the TBT events is definitely Camp Bell Tree, but we didn’t have one this year. I have my fingers crossed for 2025, though I still appreciate the work staff put into these other events. It just means there’s something for everyone, and this poll shows that all events have some love.

I'd have to say the only two I've actually been here for! That is, the 20th birthday and the Season of giving. I really enjoyed the bday, and I'm really enjoying this Christmas event!

I have my fondest memories of the mushroom season. The mushrooms were all so fun and the way we managed to organize ourselves to "cheat the system" was also very fun. I'm sure future events of this type will be quite different hence why I look fondly onto this one.

Farewell to new leaf and world championship were by farrr my favourites! It was soo much fun and so interactive to play with everyone here in the community, i absolutely loved that!

Farewell to New Leaf brought me back from my long hiatus and playing it again for the event felt nostalgic.

Farewell to New Leaf was definitely my favourite event of the year, and one of my favourite events of all time. There were so many awesome new collectibles and the activities were lots of fun. Opening up my old AC:NL town was super nostalgic, and I really felt a sense of community on the forum again. It was the most I've personally enjoyed an event on this site in 5+ years.

I voted for Farewell to New Leaf, 2024 Egg Hunt, and TBT Fair 2024
I was gonna vote for the Earth Day event as well, but I decided to only vote for three (I'm not sure if the poll has a limit or not).

I think the New Leaf event was my favourite by far. NL is my favourite Animal Crossing game besides the one on the Gamecube, and it was so nice to be able to go back and do some more stuff on there. I especially loved playing online with friends; I spent some of my very last moments online visiting my partner in his town. and it was honestly super emotional visiting dream towns for the last time. I remember when I exited a dream town, and when I went to visit another, I got a message saying that the service was discontinued. it was so bittersweet, and the event itself was fantastic, as the new balloon collectibles made me feel so happy.

I loved the egg hunt this year because, for a long time, I'd been wanting the staff to re-release some older eggs so that newer members had a shot at them. especially the Aurora and Disco Ball eggs, which were released during April Fools 2018 and members didn't even know what eggs they got til the event ended. I was able to reclaim my Aurora egg, and also get a Galaxy egg! ️ I definitely felt very satisfied by the end of the event.

the 2024 TBT Fair was the fourth fair that I'd participated in, but I hadn't gotten that into a fair event ever before. and it's because the staff were gracious enough to re-release, and make more accessible, the impostor collectibles, one of which I had longed for since the beginning (the purple flower wand). I participated in every activity, and I managed to earn a staff favourite for the first time since 2017! so I not only got my beautiful purple flower wand, but also a sparkly cupcake hehe. ️ plus the event itself was just so much fun, I loved partaking in all of the activities (even if I was a little short on time).

as for the Earth Day event, it was nice to not only see the hybrids make a return for the first time in a while, but also see the introduction of some new hybrids. like the lovely purple rose, which is one that I'd been wanting for a while. plus the golden watering can was a nice keepsake!

I'll stop rambling there hehe, this was a good year for TBT events in general. thank you again staff

My top three were:

1. The Bell Tree Fair 2024 - There were so many fun events and I liked how they let us buy lots of collectibles that were available in the past. I wouldn't have been able to get this special Bluebird plush if that didn't happen!!
2. Celebrating Diversity 2024 - I can't believe nobody else voted for this one. ;w; Any event that lets me crochet something is always a good event IMO, and it was also the only one so far where I actually won something! (no, really!) I also had a great time representing my fellow neurodiverse peeps and putting my partner in the spotlight, because I love them too much. (//w//)
3. Mushroom Season - Seeing everyone work together to identify poisonous mushrooms put a smile on my face. I'm glad I could help out with @/Saylor's spreadsheet! This is the kind of stuff you don't usually see everywhere else IMO.

An honorable mention goes to Farewell to New Leaf; it would've been on the list if I still had my N2DS to try out online play one final time. (and if I knew what I was doing, which I didn't because I was out of the forums for a long time.)
