im seriously confused about this if the switch has no camera do we just have no paths in general?

We’ll have to wait to see how they’ll implement sharing designs from the Internet. I could definitely see them making pattern sharing an application within the Nook smartphone, where everyone’s patterns are tied to their NNID. That could remove the hassle of scanning QR codes entirely, and is a much better solution IMO.

I have a feeling that the new path tool will let us create more “official” path types other than just dirt, but that’s just my own speculation.

Pattern sharing will probably use number codes instead of scanning QRs. I have a feeling we can also access some kind of user uploaded database through switch online app as well.

Part of me feels like the “dirt path” looks too unnatural to be solely that. I’m used to the very natural look of grass deterioration in new leaf so I’m worried that what they showed us might be the only way to create dirt paths. What I’m thinking though, is that maybe what we saw in the trailer is also the groundwork for laying down mass paths, kind of like a fill tool. If you like the “dirt” look you can keep it as it is, but if you want to replace it with patterned paths you simply click something that will replace all dirt paths with your selected pattern. If the paths are disconnected then it only fills in what is touching, etc. If you want your dirt paths back you can revert back to that. Maybe? Idk  Either that or something similar to HHD where you can lay down patterns directly by certain dimensions (like carpet sizes).

I've actually started to think this may be why it will be linked to pocket camp?
We could use the camera on our phones to scan QR codes and use it though that. I'm probably way off but that would be a way around the camera situation (՞o՞☝︎

All I know is that we will be able to make dirt paths WITH ROUNDED CORNERS!!! so I'm happy. Half of my landscaping problems disappeared with that ability. :)

I'd love if they let you change the sound of the path so when its in grass it still sounds like you're walking on a sidewalk

I've said this before in a different post, but our phones/tablets can read qr codes, so it wont be that big of a deal honestly and i believe it will utilize the NS app as when you scan a QR code, it does ask you how you want to open it.

Combination number and letters to maximize the amount you could possibly have.

I like the idea of the user-database. Since their whole thing is being on a phone, "Pattern-Gram" as the Instagram shoutout.
