What will you do differently in this game than new leaf?

I think the first thing I will do differently is that I will not time travel, I want to play at my own pace, take my time, and no rush.
And since i'm a gyroid addict I'm planning on making a gyroid showcase museum at my 2nd house if there isn't one available in the town museum :)

I kinda doubt that we can time travel since the auto save function (remember, Resetti is now a heli pilot... I guess) but if it is possible, I guess I will do it, hehe. What I will do differently that to New Leaf... uff, that is a hard question. I believe I will make a very special theme island and find new and interesting villagers.

I never really time traveled, so I hope I will continue not to in the new game. I also plan on taking more time on my island, and making sure it looks nice. I want to try not to reset if I don't neccesarily like the villagers I start with, but there's always a chance.

I never really bothered trying to make my town look polished, with all the new features I will definitely try harder this time to create paths and stuff!
I also really just want to try getting everything on my own, on new leaf I got a bunch of stuff off of here and I kinda regret it.

I actually want to play this game the exact same way as when I first started my new leaf town.
However after the first few resets I became obsessed with everything being perfect right off the bat...

This time around I just want to take it slow, and fall back in love with the little details of the game.

Do what I normally do, although I’ll have fun with the new items like that pole vault thing.

There are some things I definitely want to do differently this time.

a) I'll reset for a fruit a like and a nice map to start with.
I'm so tired of having oranges and I want an island that appeals to me when I set foot on it. I remember resetting for a bit in New Leaf, but I didn't pay attention to a lot of details. Luckily, I still got a pretty decent map back then.

b) I'm going to plan at least a bit.
Might sound crazy to a lot of people here, but that's gonna be a new experience for me. In New Leaf I've planned absolutely nothing. I literally just went with whatever came to me and while I do like most of my town, I still regret my house and caf? placement to this day.

c) I want to take things more slowly.
It's not like I was rushing it in New Leaf, but there came up a certain dynamic once I started getting into multiplayer. Trading and cataloging items took a lot of time and sped things up in a way that I don't find necessary, now that I'm looking back at it. Completing a furniture set on your own and working with what you got in the meantime seems a lot more satisfying and rewarding, especially now that you can customize so much. Don't get me wrong, being able to help others get their furniture sets was very nice, but also kind of stressful. Scheduling and organizing long lists of trades and orders almost felt like working in retail.

d) Avoid time travel, in case that's still a thing.
I wasn't heavily relying on it in New Leaf, but still used it as a convenient way to catch up and make sure I wouldn't come back to bad surprises that were waiting for me. I'd like to stress less about losing control over villagers moving in and out. It's really not the end of the world if a villager I like decides to pack their bags. Right? Hehehe...

e) Designing patterns!
This is more on the "wishful thinking" side, but I'd love to get into pattern design this time around. In the old games I always told myself I would, but didn't take the time to practice, so that I always ended up with a weird mix of badly designed "experiments" of mine and fancy QR code patterns of other players that I got from blogs etc.

1. only casual time travel
- if i miss a store or something then i'll go back to visit it but that's it. no time traveling a day or 5 in advance or in the past
2. actually buy everything
- i've always wanted to complete the catalog but i just never did because i didn't buy everything; i didn't get all the shirts or accessories from the able sisters, i didn't buy all the furniture or paper from nook's, and sometimes i didn't accept villagers' offers of furniture or clothes.
3. i'll actually participate in town planning
- whenever i started a new town in new leaf (after the welcome amiibo update) i was always pressured to put down paths and stuff and plan out my town when i had no villagers because it was easier to move in villagers to specific spots afterwards. even though i felt the need to do that, i never did because it was stressful and now i would like to do that a bit differently because it's easier to put things where you want them now.
4. try to feel a connection with my villagers
- i always ignored my villagers because i only wanted specific ones and just thought that the ones i had would move out soon. but now all the villagers look lovely and will have a spot in my town, so now i want to actually form friendships and such with them.

1. No time traveling (not that I was much of a time traveler but I would travel forward sometimes to get a certain villager to move out faster/a certain shop to open).
2. I want to take things at my own place and experience everything organically.
3. Not buying/trading furniture with other players at least in the first few months of gameplay.
4. Being more open to other villagers. While I still want to get my certain favorites to live in my town, I want to experience some I haven't seen
5. I want to work more on the landscape/housing and preferably establish some kind of a theme. I would love to do a creepy-cute town with some horror vibes.

No time travel!!!!!!!!!
Playing a bit every day is better than a lot of hours in a weekend of time traveling
