What's the most recent lie you've told / why?

'I'll be ready in 5 minutes'. This is a regular one for me. Although I don't do it intentionally, I genuinely believe each time that I really will only take 5 minutes. Something always distracts me.
Also told my friend yesterday via Facebook that I didn't actually miss her birthday, I'd got her a present well in advance and just wasn't free to give it her (that part was true as I was unwell over her birthday). But I had completely forgot about getting her a present. So I said I'd bought something well in advance and would give it her when we meet up...so I've got it get buying ;)

man I haven't lied in a long time. either that or I can't remember..
I don't think saying "I'm fine" when I'm not is a lie (usually I give other answers depending on how I feel, not what I'm going through in my peronal life). like yes I might be going through a hard time but I'm feeling fine enough to be able to do my daily job otherwise I'd be absent, plus I don't like revealing all my personal problems to anyone who asks the common question that is "how are you?"..
just speaking my mind...

Can't recall. I don't lie for the most part - not intentionally, anyway. I often misremember things but I don't really consider that lying. I'll usually own up to it once I realise I was wrong.

I'm not a decent enough human being to lie not to hurt someone's feelings. I'd rather they be disappointed for a few moments than be hurt if/when they later discover I'd lied to them.

"I'll finish this game in 5 minutes."

I use this excuse whenever I don't want to go out and ends up being a lie.
