What's up (or down) with streetpassing?

Where the hell do you live that you can get 20 streetpasses in a day? The maximum I have ever gotten was when I went to the city where I got like 6 ._.

Well during StreetPass weekends at Nintendo Zones I could get quite a lot! But honestly at all the regular places I'd go in a week there were "regular" StreetPassers who I would see. Average would be 6 per location. I'd bring the 6 in, and go to one other place, or at a mall or something and get 6 more.

But the past 2 weeks its been almost nothing.

I looked at the AT&T site and apparently Hilton hotels are no longer part of the wifi, so that would explain this past week. And Hampton Inn is no longer showing up either, and I used to drive by and get some there, but apparently not.

Maybe this isn't a Nintendo thing, but rather an AT&T issue.

Yeah, damn I always forget about those weekends and to actual walk past the 'zones. But yeah yesterday me and my bf was in town and I think we got 9-10 hits each including Nintendo Zones/each other and his brother's 3ds hits so that was neat!

I think this electronics chain is the only working zone here anyways where you can actually go claim Streetpass hits, I think they shut down most other or you can only use it for internet?

And specifically NL and those games that actually uses the Streetpass function I don't see many around other than ORAS Pok?mon games :3

I'm never going to get the street pass badge on my town, have pretty much accepted that now. In all the time I've had my ds I've only had 4 in total. I've taken it everywhere. I actually got 2 of them while I was in hospital a couple of weeks ago, otherwise I'd still only have 2.

i don't get many streetpasses since i live in a small town which makes things slow going, but whenever i go to a large city i bring my 3DS and usually get atleast 5-10

Usually if I go to Nintendo Zone around here I can pick up a few pretty fast if I go near enough it and people actually have been passing it... But yeah that is a hassle until sometimes Secret Quest so yea :3 Or if you forget to get PC's in general.

Streetpass seems to be a relatively dead thing in Australia. When my gf and go out, even to a large shopping centre for a few hours, we're lucky to get 2-3 hits. I even did a search on what a Nintendo Zone was (since I've never heard of them), and there doesn't seem to be any in Australia.

I guess her and I have to wait for the next convention in our area and hope for the best.

^yeah seems they shut down a lot of the zones, i think we used to have way more, at least for the purpose of getting people.

maybe you can still surf or download stuff, i don't know.

but yeah i really love how they emphasized on the new games you need at least 3 hits or they are useless lol. well if it makes people actually bring their game, sure otherwise it seems a bit over the top tbh

I live in a very small town where most people are into Xbox and Playstation, so I've only ever gotten maybe 5 Streepasses in my 6 years of owning a 3DS. There was a time where I had this photography class senior year of high school and our teacher didn't care what we did so me and a friend played our 3DSes in the back. I remember ACNL had just come out like two months ago and fall was just starting.

I brought my 3DS to school constantly that whole trimester but ever only got my friend and maybe one other as a tag.

Btw, has anyone experienced crashes to the SP games? My streetpass mansion (na name??) keeps ****ing around sometimes.. usually solved by delete and re-dl but tbh seems like some update bug to me

Well, speaking for myself, that's actually a game feature I don't like at all Because it means that many people will never access that little part of the game precisely for the lack of encounters. I couldn't care less about the plaza, but I really would have liked a lot to have some houses showing in the HHA. Guess what, I never got even one!

Yes, it's the truth. I live in a small city in Spain, and the people density isn't high at all. Adding to that, not many people actually play videogames, and those who do likely won't think to go strolling around with their 3ds because criminality.

I got the 100 streetpass one!

My sister has the game, it's helped.

Of course, if I walk I still get the "game money" to buy the cookies, but not meetings-each-other. And I tried my best! I went to the library, highschools (mine and friends'), university, gameshops, etc. Even tried the MCDonalds as much as I hate that place!
... Absolutely nothing. I guess my city simply isn't in the techno-map of the world T_T

I was seriously bummed out when I went to the DC Zelda Symphony concert. In the past few game concerts I went to (Pokemon x2, Zelda x1) I was able to get 90+ at least. But this time I got around 29 max, which seriously bummed me out. StreetPassing is easily my favorite part of the 3DS and I hope it carries over into whatever replaces it (Switch??) but I just don't know. :/

I always take my 3ds out for streetpassing. You never know when someone will streetpass. Be it they do it often or not. The fun of streetpassing is that sometimes you'll streetpass people in the least expected moment sometimes, or not realizing you have streetpassed one person once you got home.

Walking around my town, I rarely get any bites. Heck, I live in a condo unit that has a lot of kids and nothing not a single streetpass. I even take my 3DS with me to college and there I get maybe 3 or 4 people depending the day. I don't think many people have set up street pass.
