what's ur favourite flavour of soup

What about potato leek soup? What's your opinion on that?
Great question, Trundle. I've never had the opportunity, nor privilege, to try potato leek soup. But, I will caveat, that I am not the biggest fan of leeks. Thus, it would not appeal to my taste or sensibilities to try potato leek soup for a full meal. However, if I were in a situation where I could try a small slurp of someone else's potato leek soup, I would surely take that opportunity so I could give you my full thoughts on the dish.

My top 5 soups are French Onion, Soon Tofu, Udon, Tomato, and Kak’ik. All of them are super good even with other foods or by themselves.

For those not familiar with Kak’ik it is a traditional Mayan soup made from chilies and pork!

Thank you, Gabby, for your prompt response. I think I should inform you of one thing though.

Potato leek soup does NOT taste primarily like leeks!

A good potato and leek soup is creamy and rich. It has aged cheddar. The leeks simply add a sweet, fragrant undertone. In a soup, they are quite mild. Part of this is due to the fact that they have been cooked down for awhile before consuming. This is akin to cooking down onion or garlic in a dish - it's still there, but it's not the star of the show.

Before you dismiss the notion of potato leek soup entirely, let me give you a list of other people who also enjoy it:
- Alex
- Me (Trundle)
- Justin (he hasn't tried it yet, but I know he will)

In conclusion, please try potato leek soup! Do not wait for a taste from a friend.

Trundle, this has given me much to think about. As you've outlined here, my notions of potato leek soup are clearly inaccurate, and I've really overestimated the role of the leek in the soup.

I've given it some thought, and I'll try potato leek soup. Not immediately, but I will try it. Your list of people who enjoy it was quite convincing as I trust the opinions of most of those people on the list. Again, I will be sure to let you know my thoughts on the dish as soon as possible.

I like carrot and french onion soup at all times of the year. I also like squash soup and mushroom soup. However, if I were to eat mushroom soup it has to be all-natural. I dislike the instant mushroom soup.

I also support potato leek soup. 🥔 Creamy potato soup with bacon is probably my favourite. There are so many good soups though! I also really love tomato, mushroom, and broccoli cheddar.

Chicken noodle and broccoli & cheese soup I guess. I don't have soup often.

I read this as soap instead of soup gajdbfkgjdf

I'm prob basic asf but I love tomato soup, especially with grilled cheese! 🍅

also,

I appreciate your passion for potato leek soup hehe

I love wonton, miso, French onion, New England style clam chowder, chicken noodle, egg drop, and hot and sour soups. I also like the broth that fish balls (Asian delicacy) and other similar items create when boiled in some water. Add some Napa cabbage and a bit of salt and pepper and you get something really tasty!

I love clam chowder and I wish I could find some here in australia

Also, a homemade chicken noodle soup is always great

If Australia has Campbell's Soup, you may find their New England Clam Chowder somewhere.
It's the only clam chowder around me I can find and it seems good. No one in my area makes that soup.

I would say my favorite kinds of soup are Potato Soup, Chili, Vegetable Soup (w/ beef), French Onion, and Ramen. 😋

Chicken Noodle Soup my beloved!! Whether it’s homemade, store-bought or from a restaurant, it almost always slaps. My favourite that I’ve had is the one that my late grandmother used to make. It was so good. She didn’t leave the recipe for it anywhere, but it’s one of the things I miss about her the most. My mom makes a version of it that’s pretty close, though.

I love it with carrots, celery, pinto and kidney beans, mini Conchiglie pasta, etc! It’s just so comforting, filling and delicious. I could honestly eat it any time of the year.

I also like New England Clam Chowder, Tomato Soup, Chicken and Rice Soup, Split Pea Soup, and Vegetable Soup! Pretty much any soup. You can’t go wrong with soup.

I like all kinds of soup. And potato leek soup is one of the top. Maybe because I add bacon to it....

Dunno if these would all count as soups or not, but I like:

Gumbo! (Seafood better than chicken n sausage)
Crawfish bisque
Chicken n dumplings
Italian wedding soup
Tomato (if not too acidic!)
Mushroom soup!

And there was a tomato/fish soup that was really good. I made it, didn't save the recipe, it was awesome, and now I can't find the recipe of course.😅

I love soup, ramen is my ultimate comfort food. If we're talking more traditional soups, then French onion and butternut squash are my favourites. I also enjoy cream of anything, and any roasted veg soup. Just any soup, really.

Loaded potato soup and chicken and dumplings are my favorites. And I also like white chicken chili if you cout that as soup.

Plain ol' boring, basic Top Ramen chicken soup, Cup Noodle chili lime flavor, and the very occasional Lipton chicken soup. I cannot tolerate anything else, especially canned soup and homemade soup. I'm really dumb about mouth feel and the moment anything weird makes contact with my tongue I automatically want to spit it out. Random specks of stuff just floating in the broth, basically. I'm incredibly picky lol 😂

I like my soup to be as simple as possible. But I do add some things for added flavor and content, things I'm accustomed to such as salami chunks, crushed garlic cloves, baby carrots and broccoli, hardboiled egg, and a couple of splashes of hot sauce.
