when are you planning to start playing?

i hope this hasn't been asked before, but if it has, let me know!

i just wanted to know when people were going to start up their games for the first time- when the game releases (9pm, 11pm, midnight, etc. depending on where you live) or if you'll wait until the daytime of the 20th? i know a lot of us either preordered digitally or are picking up our physical copies at midnight, but i'm not sure if i want to start up as soon as possible because i want my villagers to be awake/be able to see in the island in its full daylight glory when i land on the island.

what do you guys think? what are you planning to do on the 20th?

as soon as i get the game - i’ve ordered it from best buy so i won’t be able to play until it arrives but if best buy or mail delivery gets affected by corona, i’ll just buy it on the eshop and start playing as soon as it’s available

I had pre-ordered from my local Gamestop and they seem to still be doing the midnight release. I play a gig that night and after that im going to pick it up and play it for a couple hours before work in the morning. I can't wait to play!

The second nintendo unlocks my digital download my sister is coming over and we are having an animal crossing release party with just the two of us lol

I decided yesterday to buy the digital version over the physical so I have the option of playing at 11pm Thursday night!! However I think I am going to wait until the 20th instead and try to wake up early (like 8am) and play it, mainly bc I don't want to mess up my sleep schedule by playing it all night long haha.

So yeah I'll start playing early Friday morning!

I'll start my island at midnight but I probably should be a responsible adult and only create my character and my island... I have that Friday off but my boyfriend has to work and if I stay up playing, so will he, and he needs to sleep for work the next morning x)

I'm going to start playing at 9pm on Thursday. I'll probably do some resetting, but hopefully not too much. Then I'll do the tutorial and explore a little. After that I might head to bed and play again in the morning.

I mean, they play at the exact time as anyone else. The only difference is the hour they start compared to other people.

I'm over going out to stores for things right now, people here are literally losing their minds.

So, as much as I'd like to say I'm going to get my sleep schedule on track....im sure I'll play at midnight as soon as the digital opens up.

I'll be playing the morning of the 20th regardless of if I decide to go out to the store or to stay in and get digital due to corona, I think it'll be a lot more fun for me to play in the daytime when I'm not so tired

Yea but time zone wise, it's a bit nice getting it at 9pm the day before vs midnight. Instead of staying up till 3 my time to play, if I was pst I could play till 12. Big difference in messing up your sleep schedule.
So I assume people admiring pst time are aware of the time zone aspect, they're just admiring it being during normal waking hours.
