I don't think anything drops until March 5th sadly.Any idea what will the update include immediately? Trying to decide if it’s worth waiting up until 1 am

Probably just the mail you get from Nintendo every update. I think this time includes a Super Mario Mural.
Usually around 11am in Japan. That is normally 8PM CST for me (5 hours from now). You'll know it's coming when you see a warning that server maintenance is about to start.

Yeah, it's probably best you get some sleep rather than staying up for it haha. It'll be there when you wake up so no worries.

I'm just a ghost.
The update is going to add in the Mario items and other seasonal items but they are time locked so there is no way to get them by time traveling. I guess the update might fix some issues that is going on in the game. Knowing Nintendo they would do something like that.

Just to let you both know: The Super Mario items will be available at March 1st, the other items however (like the St. Patrick's Day ones for example) will drop later.
