I know this all too well... I'm guilty of seeing them as tropical looking in AC myself though. Not because of what they are but I think it's because of the open round petals, broader leaves and exotic color patterns.

I’m just looking at it in terms of realism, which can honestly be quite limiting in a game. Design is all about creativity and doing things your own way, so I’d say plant those pansies to your heart’s content! Many people here seem to agree with you anyway and make that tropical connection.

Windflowers, cosmos and lilies are the most tropical! I feel that roses, mums, and tulips are the least tropical. They feel more spring-ish to me! Hyacinths and pansies are alright, but it depends on the colors!

haha yeah, i agree. i have a few places where i pair hibiscus bushes with pansies!

Well, the first thing I think about is lilies. From the whole list, they are really associated with tropical flowers. Of course, there are different varieties of lilies. There is also a lily in my garden. Still, it is difficult to call it a tropical flower since it is of a different variety. Windflowers are also tropical or at least associated with them. As for pansies, I do not consider these flowers tropical at all. I recently bought some pansies to plant in my garden at 25% off bloom and wild. They grow well, even though I don't live in a tropical climate at all.
If you move away from the theme of tropical flowers, I can say that all the flowers from this list are just beautiful.

I would say lilies for sure! They look the most tropical I would say! Though I think the right color of any flower (blue, black, purple) would look pretty tropical to me!

I think a lot of it comes down to the color combinations you use.

I have a tropical/jungle themed island and i use pretty much all the flower except pansies and roses.

I primally stick with certain color variants though. I use pink and orange flowers with a touch of green mums if i want the area to look overgrown.

I also plant coconut sprouts among some flowers to give it a nice vibe as well!

The coconut sprout idea is a really good one! Especially for the tropical theme! Great idea!

Thanks! I wish i could say i came up with it, but i know i didn’t lol i’ve seen a couple other people do it. It really does help with the tropical vibe though! I know this is dark but you can see them here around my campsite/lake area. I just love what they add to the look and feel.

Lillies and windflowers. These are hands down are the most "tropical" if someone wanted a tropical theme. Lillies are the most tropical, with the pink and orange hybrids being the most tropical of the lillies. Strong contenders would also be pansies and violets (from NL).

I tried to base my vote off of what I know from real life flowers vs our options in AC. Pansies are actually winter flowers, they thrive in cold weather, and Roses are too finicky to be tropical. Mums are fall flowers, and Hyacinths, I believe, like part shade. Tulips bloom in early spring, and Lillies start to come up in spring and bloom in this past of summer (we have a ton at our house, all in full bloom). Cosmos I think are just generally hearty, and I know nothing about windflowers, so I picked those. I like the in-game ones a lot.
