Which villager best represents 'the face' of Animal Crossing?

Have to agree with a lot of the comments here - Bob would be my first thought as well. But others are saying Bunnie as well, and that's also a good shout - her design is so cool and unique, and her plushie is always the one I see in stores when I come across AC merch in the wild. Maybe Dotty, too? Her in Smash would be great, she could have a special berserker mode move where her eyes turn red - I always loved that detail lol

I remember lil me seeing this in the store and being like, "what the heck is this". Little did I know that it would dominate my life for the next decade lmao

I used to think Bob, but I've noticed things over the last year that have made me switch my answer to Rosie. Bob may still be the answer among the fanbase, but it seems like Rosie is used more as a mascot.

• I haven't seen the AC movie, but it seems like Rosie is prominently featured as others have mentioned
• In Pocket Camp, Rosie is also one of the introductory villagers if I remember correctly
• Rosie is one of three villagers used in the Welcome Amiibo promo cards

Hard to pick 1, but if I had to make a town out of villager mascots, it'd be.

1. Bill-is on numerous covers for the games.
2. Rosie-same reason as Bill and also starred in the movie
3. Bob-a very popular mascot to the fans and what a villager design is.
4. Apollo-has been used on covers, promotion art and a starring role in the movie.
5. Axel-been on a cover and a promotional poster/alternate cover.
6. Bunnie-has been on a cover and a promotional poster/alternate cover.
7. Beau-been on promotional posters for Pocket Camp and New Horizons
8. Jay-Was seen often in trailers and on posters for New Horizons
9. Hamlet-Been on the cover for New Leaf and often seen in promotions/posters/videos for New Horizons
10. Fuchsia-Same as Hamlet.

Notable villagers:

Alfonso, Margie, Whitney, Champ and insert random popular villager.

I'd say Bob probably. Either him, or more recently Raymond, and before Raymond, Marshall. Before all the Bob hype happened though, I'd have said the ones from the movie, like Rosie, Whitney, Apollo, Margie etc. With 397 villagers though, there's quite a few that I feel would be good in the spotlight, my personal choices would be Kiki, Bluebear and Tia

For me, when I started the game last spring as someone brand new to animal crossing the villagers I think I was aware of early on and seemed like ‘main’ villagers were Goldie, Rosie, Bob, (unfortunately) Apollo, and Bunnie.

I'd say there's a few that fit that bill! I tend to think of Goldie, Rosie, Apollo, more classic characters like that. I tend to think of characters where you could post a picture and 99% of people that have played would go "Oh, that's Bob..." or "Oh, that's XYZ". I wouldn't choose a character to represent the series that hasn't appeared in most if not all games (or on merchandise, the film, etc.), even if they're exciting and new like the few they released with New Horizons. It has to be someone recognizable to players that may not have played every game in the franchise, you know?

Goldie for me personally.

Pocket Camp and Happy Home Designer both use Goldie as a tutorial animal so I sort of always felt like she was some sort of unofficial mascot. I know they aren't exactly mainline games but it just feels weird how this seems to be her job. Funny enough Goldie was also my starting normal in NH. I know that one was pure chance but it's still amusing.​

I would definitely say Rosie and Goldie as well! Maple also comes to mind but that might be slight bias, I don't think she's as main of a 'character' as the others

Also for some reason not too mentioned, but I feel like Apollo I see a lot of. He is in the game picture of new horizon. He is also a starter in pocket camp. He was also in the movie I believe?

Bill, Rosie, Rod, Bunnie, Coco, Antonio, Cyrano, Twiggy, Goldie, Bob, Alfonso, Apollo, Hopper, Caesar, Champ, Whitney and Margie spring to mind due to their media presence in the form of box art covers, the film and general promotional art. I feel like these villagers best represent the AC - ACCF era of the series and even some of ACNL-ACNH era.


As for the ACNL-ACNH era, I feel that Fauna and Hamlet are mascots in their own right due to the fact that these two were the most prominently used villagers to represent the two new species of the NL era in particular.

New Horizons is still somewhat new but I feel that Raymond, Audie and Sherb are the main representatives of the new entry mostly due to their immense popularity, I'd like to see these three and the other new villagers used more in promotional media and such to cement the fact that they're the new faces of this new era for AC.

rosie, bunnie, goldie, apollo, and filbert come to mind for me, probably because they show up on a lot of the game covers.

There are quite a few villagers that I feel represent Animal Crossing but if I only picked one then I'd go for Rosie for been one of the villagers that is present in every game and also has a big role in the movie, also she frequently appears outside the main franchise such as in sticker form in SSBB and as part of the set of Nintendo characters in the centre picture of the Nintendo collectors edition of monopoly.

Other villagers I'd consider as 'the face' would be Bob as he's a villager that I think probably comes to mind a lot when people think about animal crossing; Apollo, Bill and Bunnie for staring on a lot of game covers and in the movie in the case of Apollo; Whitney for been well known from the movie and most recently Raymond who I feel isn't quite the face of Animal Crossing currently but could be in the future due to how infamous he became during the release of NH.

my first thought was lobo, it's probably because he was the first villager i ever met but yeah, i've always seen him as the face of animal crossing

First to come to mind would be Bob. He is iconic and well known. But I think Rosie is a runner up. Also Bunnie it’s pretty iconic and Goldie as well.
Althoug, in my eyes, the face of animal crossing will always be Chief
