Who are the best (and worst) monkey villagers and why? 🐒

I'm not a big fan of monkey villagers but I love Monty and his mush-theme house. He's adorable.

I quite like the monkeys as a species and don't think they get enough love. When I started my first New Leaf town, I had two monkeys as starting villagers (Tammi and Nana) and then Monty moved in as my first random cranky. So I had three monkeys at the same time and it wasn't planned, but I grew to love them all.

I voted for Monty. He has my favorite personality and he was really quite enjoyable to have in my town. Tammi is a close second. At first, I wasn't fond of her appearance, but once I got to know her I found that she was a truly adorable villager. Unfortunately, I completely wrecked her house by pilfering it for all of the exotic furniture I wanted.

Deli, Nana, and Shari are my top three (which...looks to be about the same as everyone else!)


worst for me is probably elise by a wide margin but flip bugs me too.

They are all pretty okay, except for Elise... okay, I kinda take that back, because even though she comes off a little strong, she seems to have a lot of personality. She reminds me of Janine (the secretary) from the original Ghostbusters movies.

Voted for Nana and Shari.

Personally, i’m a big fan of Nana. I think she’s really cute and I love her aesthetic. I’ve always been a big fan of pink to nobody’s surprise (lol). I always wanted her in new leaf, but I never managed to get her to move in.

I’m not a fan of Elise like most people, I swear she used to haunt me back in wild world lol. It was always her on wart jr that would move in to my town.

The only monkeys I find very cute are Shari, Deli and Monty. Their designs are simple enough, and their colors are quite appealing, especially Shari (based on a squirrel monkey, who are known for a certain habit that causes their hands and feet to be colored yellow)

Worst monkeys are Elise, Simon and Tammi - I hate Elise so much because of how frequently she would randomly move to my ACCF town, and she wins the award of most ugly. Simon is extremely forgettable imo, has nothing going for him, and Tammi is scary, soulless...possibly a bit demonic lol

I'm fond of all the monkeys as a species--their little tails wobble in such a cute, pleasing way as they walk around, and they all look distinct from each other and other villagers. If I had to pick a least fav I guess it would be Monty, but he doesn't look bad by any means--I would've guessed he was lazy or smug with that facial expression, cranky is unexpected. I like how Deli looks like a langur, Flip and Nana are cute, Simon reminds me of a cartoon...or maybe Monferno or Infernape from Pokemon.

I really like Elise, Shari, and Tammi. I feel like Elise would be very good at fashion and dressing nicely, maybe part of it is the snooty personality, maybe it's the cute glasses and lipstick, but she seems like a fashionista to me. It may also be that I first saw her in New Leaf, when she was one of the very few animals that wore glasses. Shari is on my island right now, my starting uchi, and she's cute as the dickens--she's tomboyish and blunt, but she also seems very earnest. She sings a lot, and her expression while she sings looks very determined, like she knows she doesn't sing very well but she genuinely enjoys it and wants to get better at it. Tammi I like because of her manic expression and pleasantly contrasting colors. She seems like she'd be one of those that have way too much energy to the point of slightly annoying the people around them, but she can't help it, she's a wild child. That's my take on it anyways.

I'm not really sure why so many people dislike the monkeys. I don't really love any of them, but Deli, Nana, Shari, Monty, and Simon are all decent. Nana is probably my favorite, and I had her on the island for awhile.

yikes, not the monkey villagers.. i really dislike them but if i had to choose an okay one it would be deli since his design looks the best out of the bunch. the rest just look scary and weird imo, sorry. worst would have to be elise, her whole look is just ugh

Nana and Shari are the only ones that are decent. Shari is the only one that I’ve allowed to live in my town for an extended period of time.

I voted Shari cause she is the only monkey villager I remember (probably because of Jacksepticeye's ACNH videos before lol). I also think she looks pretty decent and cute and I wouldn't mind if she randomly came to my island.

nana is literally a cute pink monkey, i love her. flip's also kinda cute in a dorky jock sorta way.

i don't care for the rest of them at all, i feel like the monkeys are one of the weaker villager categories ... at least in terms of colors/designs.

I just got Monty and I adore him! His house wasn't what I expected, and I love it. I've had Shari in the past, and she's awesome too.

Not sure about least fave, though. I like the monkeys.

Best monkeys in my opinion are Nana and Champ. Champ reminds me of Porter. I had Nana and New Leaf and she is adorable. On the other hand I'm not so found of Elise and her style.

Best: Flip and Deli

Flip is my favourite monkey. I love his overall design.
Deli was in my NL town at one point. He has cute eyes and a great personality like all lazies do.

Tammi is a good honourable mention. I would like to have her on my island some day.

Worst: Elise

I hate Elise, of course her design, but what she...meant to me in my old NL town. She wouldn't leave my NL town for MONTHS. I can't stand to look at her without PTSD flashbacks of me hitting her with tbe net/hammer, yelling through the microphone, sending her trash, putting her into pitfall mazes, etc. I wanted her gone. Now I'm pretty much over it but whenever she's on an island while I'm hopping, I immediately go back to get a new island.

Tiansheng

I love Journey to the West so I really like Tiansheng's design! He is also one of the only villagers that wear shoes as a part of his design, which I find interesting. I haven't been able to find him while island hopping but I assure you that he is given priority more than most because of his Asian inspiration (I have a sem themed island)

Deli

Like I mentioned previously, I had Deli in my old NL town at one point. His design is cute for a monkey as I am very particular when it comes to the monkeys. I find that monkey designs are better than gorilla designs so I tend to be drawn to them more. Deli is a good example

WORST: Still Elise...hate her.

The monkeys aren't one of my favorite animal types, but i like nana and deli. I also think it was cool that they made champ into a special character (or is porter his relative?) but i'm kinda disappointed that he didn't make a return in new horizons outside of the amiibo cafe.

As for my least favorite, I'm not really a fan of flip.
