Since Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched over a year and a half ago, I've seen countless of threads where people would ask Nintendo to patch them in. And I was... against it until now.

Gyroids (in previous Animal Crossing games) were funny furniture pieces : making beeps, bloops, and dzzzt sounds, but let's face it: they were bulky, and quite ugly. I'd stach them away, or sold them. I just did not care, they wouldn't fit in my carefully decorated rooms, and they were so damn similar I couldn't tell them apart.

But geez ! That's a great redesign right there, Nintendo !

They are now small pieces of furniture with different designs, with customizable colors. That's a glow up! You can even put them up on a wall.

I will definitely collect their different pieces to put them back together! I can't wait for a feature I did not want to see come back. What a turn of event!

I think they are cute and will be using them. However, I liked how they looked before more. I used to use them around my houses and they looked like little people. I created scenes with them. The ones on the trailer don’t look the tiny people, more like decorations.

i like the old gyroids but i love the new ones even more. imo most of the old gyroids were kind of ugly and creepy with the exception of a few that were cute. i’m looking forward to seeing gyroids in the new update, all of them are cute in the picture down below. that glass looking one stands out to me in particular because i think it would look nice in a dining room, in the middle of a table.

I personally like their redesign. They are smaller now and therefore will be more appropriate for placing on shelves or dressers. I think there’s a lot of opportunity here with the different variations of gyroids, especially now that you can place them outdoors.

I was a little dissapointed to see the gyroids design changes but I know they weren't very popular before so they needed a revamp. I'm excited to discover all the new gyroids though even if I like the old ones a bit better.

I have mixed feelings. I like the new ones, and I think they're cute, but I do miss the old ones as well. Who knows though, maybe there are still a few we haven't seen yet that have designs more similar to the old ones

Ahh yes!!! This is what I am hoping as well. They showed us about 11 of them. I'm in the same camp. The new designs are cute and all, but I really honestly loved a good handful of the old ones. They gave off this interesting, eerie vibe and I just thought they were cute. I really liked the gyroid that would be in front of our house in the GC for instance.

What I really hope is that there's certainly way more than 11. Who knows HOW many there are. But hopefully there's a good handful more to it, and hopefully some of them are similar to the old ones. Maybe they just showed off these newer looking ones to showcase that there were new designs? Who knows! But I'm so excited to find out. I have been MISSING these silly little creatures ever since the game launched so I'm waiting with bated breath for Nov 5 so I can start digging em up. Finally setting up MeteoNook now lol so I can know when it's going to rain/when they'll pop up on my island.

Even though the new gyroids are cuter/less creepy, I have a lot of favourites in the old set and I'm sad to see them replaced. I think their size, appearance, and quirkiness was part of their appeal for me; even though many were ugly, there were quite a few that I was always thrilled to find and display in my house!

However, the new ones are definitely cute and I like how they can be customized and placed on walls. I am worried that we might not get as much variety/uniqueness in the sounds we get from them (I can't imagine any of those little trinkets sounding like a nebuloid, quazoid, or sputnoid, for example), but we also have probably not seen most of the designs yet so I hope they'll give us some good variety! Either way, I'm definitely planning on decorating with them because I really want gyroids, even though they're different this time around, and they do seem more versatile than the old ones.

I completely agree with you, OP. I never understood why people wanted them back so badly. I collected the gyroids before just to collect them, but there was only ever a small number that I actually used because I thought most were really ugly. I really like these new ones though. The fact that you can customize them is even better. I will definitely use them now.

The nebuloids were my favorite. I think they’ll be more high pitched sounding than normal.

I am a huge fan of the new gyroids redesign + the fact that they interact with music! They look super cute and versatile. So stoked to have them back and looking better than ever. I love that some look a bit more elegant (like a vase, for example) and others look like toys etc. Honestly one of the most exciting parts of the direct for me, gyroids are my froggy chair I guess lol.

I think the new ones look really neat. The gyroids were always one of my favorite parts of the games though so I'm hoping there'll be some that look more like the original ones too because I loved those, but either way I'm excited to see all the new designs!

I am all for it. To be honest I haven't got any strong feelings on gyroids and was surprised just how much of a big deal it was to people to have them added in, I never used them in the past. I never disliked them but they were not for me. I definitely will be looking to this time around though, their downsize and also makeover in general is very appealing to me.

Me!!! I never used to be the biggest fan of them on previous games but now they look sooooo cute especially when customized into fun colors and stuff!!! :)
