I also never really was a fan of gyroids, i found them really annoying and not all that cute. i still don't know that i'll have any actively making noise anywhere, but especially with the ability to customise them now i think some of them are adorable!
I do like the new designs a lot! But I also love the old ones. I think they're a little too cute for me to say that I prefer the new ones?
Then again, we saw customization options, so I'm holding out hope that most of them can be customized to look like the old ones in terms of colours. I think a lot of the new ones look more like children's toys with their colour schemes, and that's why I prefer the old ones, which tend to fit better with my preferred aesthetics.
I didn’t mind the old gyroids’ appearance but I do care a lot about what they sound like, which is going to be the key for me. I hope there’s something like the Lullaboid still in.
I didn't really care for the gyroids before and always sold the ones I dug up, but I like the redesigned ones we've seen quite a lot! I might actually start incorporating some into my decor. I probably won't have them making the noises, but we'll see.
They look so stinkin’ adorable and I love that you can customize them! The little unwatered broken one is kinda scary haha but the idea of growing them in addition to getting them the old-fashioned way is fun c:
(P.S. I think they would make such a cute collectible idea for TBT hehe)
They did a really good job with the new designs. When they were rumored, I was thinking they might look out of place in the NH aesthetic, but they fit perfectly now.
The main reason I didn't wanted gyroids is their design. I thought the old ones were creepy as heck, so I wasn't too positive about the perspective of collecting such things... But omg, redesigned gyroids are so FREAKIN' CUTE andthey're customizable! Now I'm actually looking forward to getting my hands on them.
I always found them too jarring to place in my home in NL and they just ended up collecting dust at the museum storage, so I really like how they look now! With the ability to customize them also, I can see myself adding them as desk/counter ornaments in various rooms. I've never been excited for gyroids but I think I can definitely get behind them now.
This is my first AC game, so I wasn't sure on them overall. I do think the new ones are cute and could see them being fun to mess around with. Being able to customize them is incredible to.
I'm actually most excited for them! I loved gyroids in past games too, but their models were more or less the same. Now they all have noticeably unique models and animations. I noticed that one of the gyroids featured looks like a little ghost, and I'm 99% sure it's meant to be a poltergoid. I'm so excited to see how they all end up looking!!
I think the redesign is so adorable! I love how they made them more compact! Before I would only really use 1-3 per room. But now I'm tempted to have rooms full of em! I loved the old design as well-- but the revamp is definitely more my jam.
Also the new designs seem way more unique and shaped differently in comparison to one another. A lot of the old ones had a similar formula- and all kinda looked more or less the same. But with this new added uniqueness, there's even more reason to want to collect them all!
I reallllly love them but I'm hoping they have more variety in sizes like the old ones did. Like different heights and stuff. But I definitely like the new designs a lot more than before. I wasn't super into them in New Leaf.
TBH, I liked the old designs. I found them charming in their own way, in a rustic and vaguely creepy/unsettling way (which, for me, is a good thing, lol), and I definitely wouldn't have minded if they came back like that, or is at least some did. I'm super nostalgic about how the old ones look, too. I didn't like them at first, but as I got older, they really grew on me and I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for them.
BUT. As much as I love nostalgia, I'm also open to new things and new changes. And I LOVE how they redesigned them! They now look a lot sleeker, and a lot easier to work into a room design. Before, that could admittedly be very hard to do. You almost had to design rooms around them for it to work. These ones seem like fun little knickknacks you can slip on a shelf or in a corner as eclectic accent pieces.
...Come to think of it, someone start up an Etsy or something selling this new kind, because I will 100% buy some to put in my actual house. They're just SO cute and fun and fit the fell of the game perfectly!

Same! I'd love some variety in height and width (like, chubby ones, not ones that take up two tiles or anything, lol) and I'd also love some that are a little less cutesy, and a little less creepy (they have SO MUCH potential for haunted houses!). But, even if what we saw is what we get, I'm still overall super pleased, because they still seem a lot more versatile than before.
I love em! Small and cute. I can see myself displaying a lot of them around my house and island. I enjoyed collecting them in NL but yes, it was too bulky and ugly to display lol. I do hope there's a variety of sizes just for options
