When I ask this I mean would Animal Crossing be Animal Crossing without them. I personally think Isabelle, Tom Nook, K.K, and Resetti are the most recognizable to me.

I think The Able Sisters and Nook twins are pretty important to the franchise and it would feel weird without them.
for me it's isabelle and kk. i feel like i see them associated with ac representation a lot if that makes sense lmao. like sometimes i'd see fanmade merch of ac and those two are usually the most go to npc characters people produce.

I feel like it would have to be NPCs that have been a part of the series since the beginning. For me, Tom Nook and K.K. are the most iconic mainstays. Blathers and Redd are also vital to the series.

Tom nook definitely, it might just be me but he’s always the first to come to mind when I think about animal crossing, especially with his ties to the logo. Doesn’t help he’s also the main person when you first start your island in new horizons
tom nook is the main one imo since he’s been such an important part of the series since the beginning but blathers and the able sisters (mainly) mabel and sable are hugely recognizable, too, and also have a big part in making the series what it is today ^_^

Tom Nook, Isabelle, K.K. Slider, Blathers and Celeste, Mabel and Sable, Timmy and Tommy, holiday NPCs, Snowman, Brewster, Pascal. If we’re talking about pre-New Leaf, then I’d also say Resetti. Porter, Kapp’n, Copper and Booker, and Orville and Wilbur could also count if you used the traveling features in the games a lot.
