H.G. Wells because he wrote several of my favorite Sci-fi novels, I was always fascinated on his books and on how he manged to perfectly predict the revolution of technology and on how it managed to evolve from simple candles and typewriters to long lasting light bulbs and wearable computers. My favorite novel from the intellectual author was War Of The Worlds, a book about a man trying to survive the invasion of aliens; seems cliche but the way he puts it into literary context is just AMAZING.
Susan Beth Pfeffer wrote one of my favorite novel series of all time; Life As We Knew It; a post-apocalyptic novel about a asteroid striking the moon, causing it to move closer to the earth and causing global climatic catyclisms. Centering around a girl and her family trying to survive it in Howell, PA and then switching over to a teenage boy and his sisters trying to survive in New York City, NY after hearing the news that [Best not to spoil it]. The first book was amazing, the second one did a great job as well, the third one however...did not reach most of my expectations. The 4th book was the one i hated the most since it was quite...poorly-written.
I don't know if this counts but i count Robert Kirkman too. The Walking Dead comics is out of all time, my favorite comic series which features Sheriff Rick Grimes waking up from a coma only to discover that the world he lives in is now people infected with a virus that causes them to become crazed-flesh eating monsters. I love the TV show too and i differentiate on both the events of the comics and events of the TV show.

William Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, Toni Morrison, F. Scott Fitzgerald, J.R.R. Tolkien, Gabriel Garc?a M?rquez, Alice Walker, and Stephen King, though I haven't yet finished many of his books, but I think he's an amazing storyteller.
Ah, I have so many for so many different reasons. There are more but I'll leave it at this for now.
- Lord Byron for his poetry.
- Edgar Allen Poe for his short stories.
- William Shakespeare for his tragedies.
- Colette for her insightful introspection.
- JRR Tolkien for his extensive fantasy lore.
- Neil Gaiman for his unique characters and wit.
- Leo Tolstoy for somehow making me want more after reading 1000 pages.
I can't think of an author that has brought me as much enjoyment as JRR Tolkien, though there's definitely authors where I've enjoyed several of their books. The Hobbit is my favourite novel, though I think I've liked everything I've read by Tolkien and I really enjoy the immense world and lore.
