Yeah I completely understand where you are coming from. I am pretty surprised how much information Nintendo has released. It's like when a movie trailer comes out which tells you the entire story line.
I initially wanted to avoid all the spoilers but I am so hyped that I just can't help myself. I'm obsessively watching videos, reading forums and watching people play older AC games on twitch.
I am worried how much I have spoiled for myself. But I'm also really hoping Nintendo has held a lot of information back so that I can discover new things on my own
I get where you are coming from. I accidentally stumbled across something involving the museum that I would have prefered not to know, but I did it at my own risk to keep coming on social media. Besides, I decided that if I got a little spoiled on the early game of Animal Crossing it isn't the end of the world and it has helped keep me sane with all the craziness of the world going on right now.
My theory is that people are so used to knowing everything about Animal Crossing because it isn't normally a world wide release, that people are gettting antsy about not knowing things and they don't know how to deal with not knowing. If I remember reading right, it took New Leaf six months to come to the west. So a lot of hardcore AC fans already knew how things worked in New Leaf for a long time before they got it.
Since Nintendo has reviewers bound in an NDA, there are plenty of things kept secret yet. The only way for spoilers to get out is for the lucky people who got the game early to spoil them.
I'm not sure there is such a thing as spoilers in video games though (Aside from campaign stories). After the game comes out, you will inevitably come across new details for the game unless you block out the internet until you've completed the game on your own.
i never cared for spoilers for any type of content so i just let this info wash over me. i feel like some of these things can't really be considered spoilers anyway, but that's really just my opinion talking and not a fact. i've been waiting for this game for years so any information is sustenance.
I only consider story in video games to be a spoiler. Gameplay stuff isn't. Therefore, Animal Crossing has nothing to spoil.
That being said, if YOU consider these things to be a spoiler, you probably should even be in this part of the forums. If you go somewhere NH-related, you're a lot more likely to see that information than anywhere else on the internet.
Well, this isn't a storydriven experience and buying a product, especially video games, blindly can lead to a lot of problems. If you think you need to go into the game blindly, then you have to avoid them yourself. Like, if I can't get a game on release date then I just won't look at any hashtags or forums about it. People are excited and want to talk about features and possibilities. And this is Animal Crossing anyway, it's not like there's going to be a huge plot twist or feature that'll be hidden from you.
I honestly dont care because everything we have seen aside from the reviews were in commercials/are not spoilers to me. We arent getting major dialogue from characters, seeing all upgrades, every single new fish/bug, or experiencing this for ourself so I dont necessarily view anything on here as a spoiler.
I personally don't know what major "spoiler" you would have seen that wasn't already in a commercial or the direct and intended by nintendo for us to see prior to buying the game. Plus everything we have seen has literally been like... very minor. All first month type of information locked tightly behind some very powerful NDAs.
I don’t really mind the spoilers because reading about it is completely different then experiencing it. Sort of like a when you read a book, and then they make a movie and you go see it. You already know what the book was about, but go and see the movie anyways.
i don't really care about spoilers because ac is so firsthand that for me, knowing things doesn't really affect my gameplay, it's more about what i want to do with what i know. i mostly like looking at gameplay footage and reading reviews because i love to get a feel for the game in action and i don't think seeing it will be of any detriment to my own experience, since the general premise of animal crossing remains the same.
I'm sorry some stuff got spoiled for you
I've also tried to avoid spoilers as much as possible when NH was announced, but as we get closer to the release date, I've given in and looked up a few things regarding "fixed" features I want to reset for hehe. I still haven't watched any of the Nintendo directs though, and don't plan to! Like you I enjoy discovering/exploring the game myself!
