• Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.

Why did they have to put this back in the game?

I feel like the rate for this is high or something because I'm in my house for not even one minute before a visitor comes. It's insane. I like the idea but it's just waaaaay too frequent. I just ignore them til they leave.

Residents can follow you, they will even mention they want a tour of your house. Visits are different depending on how they get into your home:
  • If they show up unannounced and you are on the main room/run to it after they knock, they will stay on the main room.

  • If they ask you first (by pinging or thought bubble), they'll want to tour the house and visit any room. (this applies for immediate visits or visits the next day).

Yes, I should have acknowledged that in my post. I do know that, but I find that villagers enter uninvited literally every single day, and they request to come over maybe…….once every three months? I would find the barge-in visits a lot more fun if they were as thoughtful and lively as the much more rare planned visits. I don’t feel very motivated to work on my house if it’s only ever shown off a few times a year.

I get the planned visits pretty frequently, my mom also has requests for visits like 3 times per week. So yeah, both of our houses get shown a lot. Don't know why your residents don't want to visit you as much :/

because of this fact ive literally put a cupboard and working and cooking stations outside; and i avoid the villagers too. its annoying when youre right in the middle of doing something only to have one of them interrupt you to go to their house *or they to yours!*

im with you on this 100%!!!

Its weird I get days where villagers do come to my home but then I get others where they don't come at all. I waited in my home for like 10 minutes and no one showed up (before anyone asks I do have most villagers at a high friendship) maybe its one of those "RNG" moments (I know I keep saying that a lot but still everything in this game is so luck based)

Ohhh god, I used to hate this so much, and I agree I almost never were in my house unless it was for redecorating purposes. But yeah any request to come see me in the game was instantly rejected, it's not that I'm gonna wait in-game or decide a time for that, sigh.

I think it's cute but I also feel like the villager visits were a lot more rare in NL? It really does seem like a lot now.
And I agree the schedule system from NL was the worst, I always just picked a random time and didn't show up. At least it was an easy way to get rid of it.

Whoah, really? No wonder you’re less annoyed. For some reason my non-moving thought bubbles/exclamations tend to be treasure hunts, gifts, delivery requests, or requests for certain bugs/fish. I had no idea they could be so frequent! RNG, man.

I really hate how everything in this game is so RNG/Luck Based.

Sadly I ignore my villagers' requests to come over right now because I'm heavily redoing my island and don't want to be disturbed. If they show up at my house I ignore them or reset my game. I'm a terrible hostess but a good representative. I'm making the island prettier, leave me alone.

I feel the same way. Since I gotten all of the villager photos (yes every single one) last year I don't really bother to talk to them.

I just ignore them if they come and u don't want them there and don't want to say no. They actually leave pretty fast if you don't talk to them or click through your crafting bench.

I just thought of something, has anyone tested to see if they bug you if you have your lights off in your house?

Most of the time I don’t mind their visit. I have gotten some photos from villagers. Maybe have a set amount of time they stay. Some come over give a gift , play a game then leave. I don’t mind that. Lately they have been staying longer and just sitting on the floor reading. I don’t want to say no but it would be nice if they didn’t stay so long.

I did and I can confirm it does work. I had my lights off and Marshal was about to come inside but when he saw that the lights were off he just went away. Another thing that prevents villagers from entering your home is that if you have a roach in your main room and they just leave. Anyways, yes turning off your lights in the main room does work.

If you just leave your home then they will finally leave. I tested it the moment that Frett came inside and then he just straight up left after I was leaving the home.

That’s good to know thanks

I've now had a couple encounters where Ava will ask to visit my house, and after I tell her no, she immediately shows up at my doorstep when I return anyway.

Clingy Animal Crossing

I don't hate it but it is annoying to be interrupted while decorating. I do wish we had some kind of party system. Like you can invite all the villagers to your house at one time and they dance to the music we have playing. Maybe the villager we don't like feels left out and they decide to move...kinda mean but still I'd like to be able to have them all over at one time.
