Why do some people on TBT prefer appearing invisible?

Out of habit; it's something I do on every site that has the option to be invisible. No specific reason, other than what some others already said; not wanting people to know you're on-line, because sometimes I like to simply read posts, but I don't want to answer any messages because I'm too tired or doing other things at the same time. ^-^

Because they like it.
It gives them a sensation of being mysterious or whatsoever.

Well, its probably to avoid people or something, But is actually not invisible at all.
Just go to their wifi rating page and it will tell you when they were last online.

I like popping into the "Quick! Before the Mods come!" and being all like

"WHERE DID THIS DINOSAUR COME FROM"

also so a few people don't bother me through PM
