I know one of the things that one gives up with opting for a Switch lite over a full console is the lack of motion control without a seperate purchase controller. Do we know if motion control will be a part of NH...like casting a fishing line or swinging an ax?

Or. Aerobics?

Man, I really hope so. Fishing wouldn't be the same without it.

While I think motion controls could be fun and neat, I don't want them. Or at least make it optional. Some people have disabilities or conditions that don't let them enjoy those features. And sometimes I don't want to, so just let me cast my fishing line with the A button when I want to.

maybe it will support it but it would definitely be optional for the player to use

If you're talking about motion control in the capacity of like... swinging the Wiimote in Cityfolk (or in this case, joy cons) to cast your line, there'll always be the option to just press A for those activities as always. I don't remember if any of the trailers/articles mentioned this kind of motion control play, but I don't think motion control would be necessary to enjoy the game anyways unless you really miss fishing Cityfolk style. But again, I don't think this is even confirmed to be an added feature yet. Also, Switch Lite has some gyro aiming functionality as well at least for games like Splatoon 2. Not sure how much of gyro will be used in ACNH because from the trailers it looks like we'll be experiencing the game in the same linear fashion as always (eg. no rotating the outdoor view, which is usually what gyro is used for).

I mean, in the trailer released, the mom and daughter were playing it on switch lites, so if it is included then it'll probably be optional.

Forced motion control was one thing that made me strongly dislike City Folk. If it's optional, then that's fine, but the classic way of controlling things needs to be the default.
