Will Raymond be the new Marshal?

We all have our favorite villagers, but we also can't deny some are more popular than others. Do you guys think that Raymond will take marshal's place as the most popular smug villager? I'm considering having him instead of Marshal on my island, both of them are super cute in my opinion.

I'm not trying to start a war, I'm just curious

EDIT: as some of you commented, yes Marshal now a days is easier to get thanks to amiibo cards, and also Raymond was just released which gives Raymond an edge. Still almost 40% of the votes went to Marshal, so even almost 8 years later, he still have a following, myself included.

Raymond seems like he'd beat Marshall for most people, but I agree with Paperboy012305. Aduie is amazing

I feel like Marshal isn't as popular as he used to be, so yes, I think Raymond is or will be more desired than Marshal.
Marshal will forever be special to me though

Yeah, I knew Audie would be a challenger, that is why I limited to smugs. Julian is my all time favorite next to Colton, in my mind they are a lovely couple and must be protected at all cost. Next is marshal, but Raymond is winning me over.

I like Raymond. But I hate to say this, but I think Audie will top them both.

I really like Raymond, but Audie and Reneigh were my two "must haves" from the new villagers. I definitely want a chance to meet Raymond in game and there's a good chance I'll want him.. but I won't know until then if he'll be my Smug of choice.

In NL my two favorite Smugs were Marshal and Kyle. I probably won't have Kyle this time just because I already plan to have Audie and Wolfgang and I try to never have more than two of any species. So it'll most likely be between Marshall and Raymond, but I can't say yet who it'll be.

Regardless of who ends up being more popular, I'm kind of looking forward to tier lists if they do happen. It's fascinating to see popularities change.

Ive never heard/seen Raymond buuut I think i just converted from Team Marshall to Raymond (i LOVE cats and heterochromia eyes!)

im team marshal bc he's very small and looks like a marshmellow. raymond's design is very interesting & unique, so i feel like that nets him a few favorite points. but i usually only go after villagers who are smaller than my characters because its just so cute seeing ur character kinda look down at them.

I just don’t match most people because I didn’t like Raymond the moment I saw him in PC. I don’t like his or Marshal’s scowls. I do like Audie, but the new animals are underwhelming otherwise.

i'm the same way! i like marshal more just because he's a lil small round guy! i think raymond is really visually interesting and i like his heterochromia, just not super "cute" to me :')

I think Raymond it’s nice, but personally I think Marshal is way more adorable than Raymond, in fact Marshal is on me dream villagers list but none of the 8 new villagers made it my dream villagers list, those 8 new villagers actually disappointed me, not big deal either.
