Will Raymond be the new Marshal?

Raymond is really popular and I wouldn’t mind getting him too but Marshal = best boy. He’s my bestie and in all my New Leaf towns, he’s the only one allowed to plot his house near mine.

Wow, I didn’t realize Audie was so popular! Sherb is definitely my favorite new villiager by a long shot and no one’s even mentioned him here haha! Marshal was never one of my favorites, but I have him on my island now and I have to admit that his design acheives maximum cuteness. I do prefer it over Raymond’s design, but Raymond is quite unique and cute nonetheless.

Team Raymond heck yeah. i didn't understand all the hype around Marshall but Raymond??? yes.
I think this question was directly aimed at raymond vs. marshall because they are both smug villagers! They both have kind of a similar appearance, but since raymond is new, and also a cat, I can see him taking over some of the marshall hype for sure ^-^

team raymond 100%!!!! i never got into the Marshal hype. I just love Raymond's design, and smugs are my favorite personality type besides cranky. my island will not be complete without Raymond, idk when i'm gonna get him but i will!
yeah, I try to have 1 of each personality type in my village/island, which gives me space for 2 extra after one of each of the 8 personalities. I certainly have 2 smugs in my town, they are just really endearing to me.
It's about tastes. The way you felt about Marshal is how I feel about Raymond, not interested on having him, if I get him for luck I would keep him but I don't exactly see how he is adorable or cure in the way Marshal does. Don't get me wrong Raymond is nice but for me personally not big deal. Hope everyone who loves him gets to have him on their town.

i think a big thing that separates raymond from marshall is that you can just scan in marshall, nbd. that lowered a ton of the value of really all of the villagers. the new villagers are so valuable and in demand rn partially because a) theyre new and interesting and b) theyre unobtainable by amiibo cards. it felt like pulling teeth to acquire judy (oh i love her so! but RIP my tbt) but also felt remniscent of what it was like back before amiibo cards. marshal was SO expensive and hard to get. i remember an auction for him going at like 50 million bells. he was unobtainable for poorer players unless they lucked out. once amiibo cards came into play, everyone who wanted any villager could get them, special order from amiibo villager dealers. less demand = less talk about them, so sorta less popularity if that makes any sense.
until they make an amiibo set including the new cute villagers, theyre going to be top of the list for most expensive/desired, simply because theyre the hardest to get.
