A few friends and I decided to get the family plan, We have 8 people (which is the max for a family plan) so we each only paid about 4 dollars and some change! So heck yeah imma be playing online!
Maybe not the first few months depending on if theres features that require playing online. I will eventually buy it, though. My mom will probably pay for the yearly subscription bc it seems the fairest plan
I don’t even plan on buying a switch unless AC is even more amazing than New Leaf (personally I like the aspect of being able to completely decorate my town however I like so if the mayoral role gets taken away then never.), and even then I’d be buying one without the box set thing (it’s late I forgot the name oops I might correct it in the morning) that connects it to the TV as handheld is easier.
It all just seems like a huge moneygrab to me. If it was so “expensive” for them to make the switch, then they could have just released the new games or an expansion pack to the Wii U.
Now we have to pay to use WiFi that we’re already paying for in our own homes? (Granted, it’s not much, but selling a ?300 Console with only ?60+ games that most of are mediocre at best? That’s at least ?500 per person if the average person were to buy 4 games. around 20Mil sales. That’s almost ?10,000,000,000. Is that not enough money to make off of one type of console? You have to charge for Online Access?)
If they end up locking New Leaf’s online features, Goodbye Nintendo. It was a hole in the wallet to meet you, but this is too far.
I don't currently have a membership since most of the games I'm playing at the moment don't need it, but I'll definitely shell out $20 for a year for animal crossing online. I don't really play online, but I did do a fair amount of trading for new leaf and I'd love to open another flower shop on here when AC Switch rolls around.
Ha ha! Nope! Even if I had money for it, I would never pay for internet service for a game where in the past I've been able to interact online for free.
Yes, I will. Animal Crossing is for me really fun with other players. So I will pay for online gaming.
I have also a PS3 & PS4, but I don't pay for online gaming for it. I play single player games on them. Well most of the time I use it for Netflix or Youtube. That's because I play most of the time Animal Crossing on my 3DS. But I really don't like it, we have to pay for online gaming. The consoles and games are expensive enough.
Yes I?ll be purchasing the online membership. It?s irritating they?re charging us for online play, but I?m willing to do it for animal crossing. One of my favorite parts of AC are the online interactions and trading items.
Idk, I'm torn. On the one hand, online has been a big part of the experience for me ever since they introduced it, so it feels weird to consider not having that option if I don't buy it. On the other, I haven't really played online in ACNL enough lately to feel like I can justify it. Part of it may be that a lot of the people I would play with have moved on, and a lot of my online stuff was just trading anyway.
When WW first came out I had to buy their USB stick to even be able to play online, so I guess this wouldn't be the first time. It's just that that was a one-time purchase meant to help people play, whereas this is a big brick wall preventing people from playing in the first place.
I'll wait until we get closer to the release date before I make a definitive decision.
Yes I already have a membership. $20 bucks is very affordable. Plus you can use your Nintendo gold points towards the purchase of the service. I do hate that they started charging for it, but at least it's affordable.
You can spend $80 every three months on new Joy-Cons, but not a measly $20 a YEAR? I know not everyone just as the money to throw around for things like that, but you clearly do. $320 a year is okay but $20 isn't? But even ignoring that, what in the heck are you doing to your Joy-Cons that they are breaking down every quarter? They aren't that poorly made. You threw your whole argument against subscribing out the window by including that.
I pay $20 a year for the cloud saving feature and NES and soon to be SNES games. I don't play online often at all, so I only see that part as an added perk. My save files are more important than playing with strangers.
I already purchased for Splatoon and Smash, and it’s sad that we have to pay for it, but I don’t mind honestly. Especially for Animal Crossing considering you’d wanna play with friends/trade and sell with people and a lot of other things, but I guess some people don’t mind sacrificing that aspect to save $20 though for some reason.
