What do you guys think about wisp? Do you think it’s worth the find out his spirits? Is it necessary?

It isn't necessary and sometimes isn't worth it. Depends how full your catalogue is or how much you're hurting for bells.

I liked it at first when he didn't give me duplicate items.

I liked his role in NL better.
Calling amiibo vans to buy awesome items.

I did his quest until I got the Nook Miles achievement. Now I'm done with that, I plan on leaving him alone - he'll probably prefer it that way, anyway.

I only interacted with Wisp a few times. It takes a while to hunt for the spirit pieces and I've never felt any of the prizes were worth it at all. I don't bother engaging with Wisp anymore. I totally would if it was worth the trouble, though!

Nah. He isn't really necessary. I only do him when I feel like going on a spirit hunt. I'll get the achievement eventually.

it isn't necessary, but I still do his spirit hunting quest every time I see him. I guess I always feel nostalgic of the old days (of Animal Crossing for the GameCube whenever I see him so I cannot help but talk to him and hunt for his spirits.)

Albeit I do love doing it, so I still find it to be a ton of fun.

he probably isn't necessary, and he doesn't exactly offer a ton of help when it comes to items (although it was nice in the beginning to get new items). however depending on how I'm feeling when he shows up it can be quite fun to run around and find all the spirit pieces. I'll probably keep talking to him until I complete the nook miles achievement then give up!

you just described to perfection how i feel about him wisp too. He is a cute little bud and if im with spare time and bored ill do his quest and if im not in the mood ill ignore him, hopefully in the upcoming updates in this upcoming years maybe hell get a revamp cause he desperately needs one. Otherwise his presence does not annoy me, he's cute

I found him to be a fun NPC at the beginning of the game to acquire new items I didn't have, but nowadays I can't be bothered to go hunting for him ^^;

I agree wholeheartedly! I don’t think it’s worth it to hunt all the wisps. I do it once in a while, when I’m just hanging out on my island and relaxing, and I don’t mind running around my island. But I don’t do it for the prize. It’s not worth it.

His gift are usually kinda lame and I just gift them to my villagers but its a fun little side quest and he's just adorable lol

I think at the beginning of the game it's super useful and helps get new items, but it's never useful in order to make bells since his expensive items aren't really that expensive to sell most times, and once I completed the milestone of getting his spirits together a lot of times I didn't even talk to him again tbh

Also the mission gets pretty repetitive and boring and sometimes it's a pain to find his spirits only for him to give you an arguably ugly flooring or something like that

I think it would probably be a bit more charming if he had more dialogue other than the same thing he says to you every single time, maybe if he switched it up it'd be at least more fun to go talk to him

He was great at release because he gave new items. Then, I only helped him to get the Nook achievements. Now, whenever I see him I just ignore him. Its too much of a hassle to get all of his "spirits" back. I thought they would maybe do something fun with him around Halloween, but I guess not.

honestly, he’s a super cute npc and i like him, but he isn’t really all that necessary imo. trying to track down his spirits was honestly a pain most of the time and so, now that my furniture catalog is complete and i’m done with his nm achievement, i don’t interact with him anymore. i definitely found him a lot more useful at the beginning but i still like seeing him around sometimes. :’)

I still have some items and lots of color variations missing from my catalog so I help Wisp whenever I found him. His task is a nice little detour, so I also wouldn't mind helping him after I finish collecting everything.

I also liked how the devs updated him on Halloween so you could activate his quest by using the Scare reaction in front of him. Nice detail.

Considering I completed my catalogue very early on thanks to people on the forums here, Wisp very quickly lost his usefulness. I only did his quest until I completed the nook mile achievement and then I completely abandoned the poor guy. I hope they add another functionality for him later down the line. He's only useful very early in game and it would be nice to have a use for him in later game.

Yeah, he's not that important unfortunately. You kind of just wish he'd be like a Gulliver type of NPC where he'll give out special items that pertain to his character and that people wouldn't mind getting repeats of.

I will do it for the achievement. Other than that, I don't see any point. With a bit of bad luck, he can eat up your spare time which causes a lot of frustration to some players.
