Is it just me or do hard wood and soft wood drop twice as often as regular wood does? For some reason I can never seem to get enough regular wood.
One night I went around looking for regular wood and needed 12 more to complete a recipe. I counted at the end and from empty pockets, ended up with over 20+each of hard wood and soft wood and I was still 3 regular wood shy of my initial goal by the time my axe broke, so I'd only scrounged up 8.
Am I just super unlucky or is this a universal thing? Does anyone else experience the extreme euphoria I do when I see two-or god forbid-THREE regular wood pop out of one tree?
That matches my experience. I often have 2 full stacks and then some of both hardwood and softwood by the time I have a single full stack of regular wood. It's very rare that I complete a stack of regular wood before completing 2 stacks of at least one of the others, and I've never finished a stack of regular wood before the other kind. It could just be luck, but that would mean I've had some absolutely awful luck this entire time. The last time I needed a large amount of wood I ended up just buying it from someone since I knew it would be faster and I was already overflowing with the other kinds in storage.
I also heard this happens to other players, ie they usually get the short end with one of the wood types. I have a friend who can almost never get any hardwood. I have your problem too though, I’ve got several stacks of hard/soft wood.
I don’t know if it’ll work for you, but I get more regular wood when I use a flimsy axe. I hardly get regular wood when I use anything else.
I always have a problem with hardwood. Softwood is what I find most of the time. It seems whichever wood I’m looking for I can’t find it. Lol happens with stone as well. I was looking for stone yesterday and all I could find was clay and iron nugget.
I have found that cedar trees yield more hardwood and regular wood whilst fruit trees yield more softwood. I tend to get a balanced amount of soft wood and regular wood from normal trees, but not as much hardwood. Planted a bunch of cedar trees(basically made a cedar tree farm up in the mountains) and I don’t struggle with hardwood or regular wood anymore
not for me, when I would go tree chopping for wood (like a week ago) I basically always got equal amounts of all three kinds of wood. heck sometimes I would even get a bit more regular wood. however i still didnt have very much cause it seems like most important crafts require it.
Regular wood doesn't appear as often for me compared to other wood. Softwood is the most common.
However... I did notice I have a better chance at getting regular wood from palm trees than any other tree. Ceder trees I tend to get the hardwood more often.
I only use the flimsy axe here myself. But yeah god it's just a mess. I have stacks and stacks of hard and soft but I never at any given moment have a complete stack of regular. I really think there's got to be something up with the drop rate.
