Woot! Grass Wear and Ungrowable Dirt Spots are now gone in this game!

To me, the most annoying feature introduced in animal crossing was grass deterioration, just by walking around. But looking at the trailer, I believe that feature has officially been banished. It actually showed a time lapse of a villager running all over the place as the seasons changed - and the grass stayed the same all throughout it!

Additionally, as you look carefully, there was not a single naturally made dirt spot anywhere on the islan'd mainland. The only way dirt spots were made was from paving them manually as a path with a shovel.

This is so wonderful in so many levels, and it will make walking around and designing paths so much more relaxing in this game.

Well, it could come back. But with the fact you can make your own dirt paths manually the easy way, i'm sure it won't come back.

I noticed that too. I really like this and I especially love that you can make your own dirt paths with a simple tool! I hated those annoying random dirt spots that wouldn't grow anything or just looked like an eyesore in New Leaf.

I like the ability to make paths, now I don’t have to put down ugly unnatural squares or run back and fourth to make decent pathways!

i really like being able to make your own dirt path. it feels much more natural than placing down a qr pattern

I'm hoping that we can be able to craft like a gravel/cobblestone, etc to put on top of those dirt paths you create. They're cute but different path variety would be so awesome.

this. I'm hoping you can upgrade them to be paved as time goes on.

this made me happy too!! now i can only hope they make placing down patterns easier... or more options for pathways besides just dirt.

I loved seeing this too! So glad we can freely run around without having to worry about making our town look like a desert.
