When you're just duplicating the original image and not crediting the original artist at all it may as well be the same as tracing. If you're still in the stage where you need to follow references exactly it's fine, it just means you need to practice more, but you shouldn't try to sell things you copied as your own work.

this is essentially what i've been trying to say (my apologies if i wasn't stating it clearly enough)
again, this isn't a matter of you looking off of the picture and trying to draw it on your own. it's a duplication. it IS tracing. you need to practice more and develop your own style and your own sense of anatomy before you can try selling.

i know it's hard to admit you're wrong, but please realize we're also saying this for your own betterment as well as the safety of other artists. as i stated before, you will never improve only copycatting someone's work. referencing is okay. tracing, especially to sell, is not.
