Would you transfer from New Leaf or Start over?

For those unfamiliar, this was an option from Wild World to City Folk. The only things that were actually transferred were the Catalog and Encyclopedia as well as your character looks. You still started out with 1,000 bells and a starter home, and your village was still reset to city folk as well as new villagers.

So if this was an option, would you take it?

Personally, animal crossing is about starting over for me. A "new leaf". I wouldn't take it. It shortens the life span of the game when you don't need to re catch all the fish/bugs or collect things over again.

I think I would. My town is still fairly new, so when the game comes out I probably wouldn't really be too far into it yet. If I end up wanting to experience everything from the start after messing around with the game after a while I won't hesitate to.

I would not do it. Because I would rather keep my New Leaf town, and I would much rather have a fresh start.

Probably so, it's different anyways than what was done in Japan for those going from + to e+.

I don't really see how they could make it an option this time. I'm thinking we'll have to do a fresh start.

I think I'd rather have the fresh start anyway.

Start over, I put wayyyyyy too much time in my copy of new leaf and it'll be nice to start over with a bit less of the commitment

The catalog would be likely, just for orderables purely so I could solely focus on the new items.
Don't know about the character looks, but I definitely wouldn't do the encyclopedia.
I'd just end up recatching everything anyway to donate to the museum.

I guess it depends how much you could actually transfer, but I would probably not. I feel like doing it would take away that 'fresh start' start that makes AC games so charming!

The thing about this is that there were like 4 exclusive items in WW that you could only get in CF by transferring. If this were the case in NL/Switch then I feel there might be more than that because of the scope of the game. As long as someone was willing to let others catalogue off them it would be okay haha.

I don't think you will be able to transfer your town as I'm expecting different town size/villager capacity/structure in this game. But your character would be okay I guess - but I don't think there has been any 3DS/Switch connectivity thus far, has there?

Probably transfer, really because I wouldn't want to wait a while to get furniture/clothing I want.

Nope, I gonna make a new town, because it's more fun for me to start right from the beginning.

My boyfriend and I are going to build a town together, so I wouldn't take that option. I can always play New Leaf on my 3DS whenever I want.

I'd start over, my encyclopedia are pretty much complete on NL and that'd take the fun out of working to fill it on the new game. Plus, I'd still like to keep my NL game, I don't see myself just abandoning it when I get the new game, I've put so much time into it.

I've always started from scratch so I suppose I'll do that again. I really enjoy the early stages of the game, I'm in no hurry.

Nope, since I want a fresh start, and im keeping my new leaf town

I would like to start over completely.

I loved gathering all my items in New Leaf and making the perfect rooms but when we make the, dare I say it, "switch" to the switch game I'll definitely want it to be a new experience.

I wouldn't mind switching if this turns out to be a port. (Actually I wouldn't buy it if that's the case) If it has a lot of new aspects I'd definitely start over. I'll want to get a new feel. Also I'm dumb rich in my towns atm. I want there to be a fair chance. Before turnips selling day at least. Lol

Even if it does turn out to be an option, I'd rather have a fresh start. I actually really like the beginning of an Animal Crossing game, where you have to start everything from scratch, and your home just has whatever furniture you happened to acquire.

Nintendo's tweet announcing the game describes it as a "new mainline game in the Animal Crossing series." If it was a port, that would be an extremely misleading way to say it. So I doubt it is - thankfully!

I want a fresh start. I?ve had my NL town since release and I kind of want to keep it as a testament to my taste then. I want to make something new and fresh
