So, am I the only one out there who's disappointed with the "city" aspect of City Folk / Let's Go to the City?? I mean, there's some cool stuff to do... I guess... like get your shoes shined and see the whole Shrunk / Frillard show. And it's nice to see Shampoodle moving out on her own instead of having to lease space from Nook. I just thought there would be... well... more. You know? I thought that maybe they would have different shops that open and close as you progressed through the game. Like competitors to Nook and Redd, or to the Ables and Gracie... they would open for a few months, then close their doors to be replaced by a different store for awhile.

Mostly, I thought there would be night life. I mean, seriously, there's NOTHING to do and NOBODY to see in the city at night. It's just plain dead. There's more action in my crappy little town after 10pm than in the bustling "city."

I don't know what I was expecting, exactly, but I was definitely expecting more than this. Am I alone here or are there others out there with this opinion?

I wish there was also a restaurant too. And the City should be able to have Wi-Fi compatability. Yeah, I was dissapointed.

Personaly I would of liked the city to be a mid-point, where you can connect with other players in the city at that same time as you. Also if it was bigger with more shops, maybe even set shops such as Sofas R us or something.

I wish they made the city bigger, more features, and wifi capability.

I like your ideas on the night life and the opening/closing shops! I was a bit dissapointed with the city. It should also be bigger and have more activities and games!

Yeah, that's exactly what I was expecting it to be. I mean, the auction house? WTF? Who even uses that? Put in a furniture store, then have it maybe close its doors and have a nursery open up for awhile where you could buy flowers and trees.
.
And I can't even describe my disappointment the first time I had friends over via wifi and found out you couldn't ride to the city together.

Thank you for making this thread I wanna talk about something. O.k. everyone knows the place where Knicks shines your shoe's, right well what is the building behind him, when i was in the city the people were like "what is that building"?

They should have made the city a place based on wi-fi community. For instance, it should have an auction house (not the lame small one now) were anyone can put something up for auction or bid. I think the city was tacked on at the last second, just like the grass wear feature.

If they really wanted it to be a city, Wendell should be sitting outside asking you for food as you walk by.

I'd like the city to progress, too. If you shine your shoes enough, Kicks should open a store.

And it'd be neat to rent out some space in the city. Storage or even an apartment. I'm tired of the joke they call "dressers." If you have several dressers in your house, you should have that many multiples of space available to you. No more magical dressers that all hold the contents of all the other dressers, please!

the city was put in to make us want to stay in our towns... thats what i think... i really think it would be so much better if you could have friends come to ur town and then u go to the city... then it would be great... ur ideas are awesome just to say... but there is so much that still needs to be touched by this... like i think that K.K. Slider should own his own bar where he has his other friends play instead of him... then it would be like a cat playing the piano or somthing...

there should be like a restaurant or a cafe or something.
where kk is there everday.
and there should be more updates.
cause like it takes a week for redd to update.
and months for gracies to update.
and it gets boring..
there should be new stuff everyday like nooks.

That would be AWESOME! I mean, they could still make Brewster's the only place to get your K.K. Slider bootlegs to play in your house, but it would be awesome to hang out in a piano bar... Like "K.K.'s Lounge" or something like that... and the idea of other animals playing songs (K.K.'s songs of course) would be awesome. They could have different voices than K.K., and play piano, or other instruments. So the song would be the same, but sound completely different than when K.K. performs them.

Also @ leelu ... LOL about Wendell. He's one of my favorite characters in the game... a true starving artist. I always wondered why they made Kicks sit on the stairs of the abandoned building.

Also, I think I was a little misled by the commercials. Like this one:

<object type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width="250" height="250" data='http://www.youtube.com/v/m6t4pPHmSU0&feature=PlayList&p=539B63B844D0A3C0&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=9'>
<param name='AllowScriptAccess' value='never' />
<param name='wmode' value='transparent' />
<param name='movie' value='http://www.youtube.com/v/m6t4pPHmSU0&feature=PlayList&p=539B63B844D0A3C0&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=9' /><param name='play' value='true' />
<param name='loop' value='true' /><param name='quality' value='high' /></object>

I'm sorry... it sounded to me like they said there was a new boutique in the city... but there's not a thing new about Gracie Grace's.

That was a terrible commercial. Who sits around and plays AC together, one person watching the other?

And if she was able to walk in and afford Gracie furniture, she's obviously been playing the game long enough to know what's in the city. You don't get the game and play it right off the bat for a couple weeks without having gone to the city ever.

And slightly off topic, but sort of related... Does it bother anyone else that Nookington's has fancy clothes displayed in the windows on the outside, but doesn't sell clothes? You can order what you've got cataloged, but you can't just walk in and buy the clothes shown in the windows.

And similarly, how when you're in the Roost and have a coffee, you can't just sit there? Brewster will say something like "take your time" but then it kicks you off the bar stool. And why can you only get coffee once a day?

I'm Very Dissapointed, I Agree With You 100%.

There was an interview somewhere that Nintendo will open that building up sometime.
I guess it's via DLC.
