There was an interview somewhere that Nintendo will open that building up sometime.
I guess it's via DLC.

yeah that would be great

because the city kinda blows at the moment T_T

haha what the heck..? trousers?
xD
they should make it a... flower store :D

I hope they do a whole new shop and maybe the Gyroid from AC Gamecube, only instead of the limit of 3 items to sell, you can sell a massive total of 350 items if you wanted to, and you could display some of those items, now THAT would be a DLC, and what about new house upgrades to get the AC:WW Mansion only with basement, maybe? hmm?

i think we should be able to expand our house and get a backyard and be able to put furniture and stuff out there.
that would be amazing lol

I had heard this rumor about the boarded up building in the city, too. I've heard a number of different versions of this story, though. Including....

1) It will become a furniture store that carries all basic furniture items (non-spotlight, redd, or other exclusive items)
2) It will become a clothing boutique carrying both Able Sisters and Gracie Grace designs.
3) It will become an apartment building, where you can move from your small town into the city and start over working your way up to a larger apartment.
4) It will become a DLC shop... a place to purchase past DLC items you may have missed out on.

...I've never seen any sort of official release concerning any of these, though, so I have to assume they are all just rumors and nothing more.

Animal Crossing for the Wii is actually the first Animal Crossing game I've played on, so I didn't really know what to expect from it, and I never really thought much about the city.

But now after I've read this thread and some of the suggestions in it I think the city could be so much more. I can't wait for this possible new shop, and it would be awesome to have it as a mid-point where players online in the city at the same time could link with each other. If the city was bigger and better, perhaps with a larger range of shops updating more often it would be better.

I woould like to see Nintendo make amends, but I'm not convinced that they would do that, perhaps the most we could expect is the introduction of more regular updates, and of course the new shop behind where Kicks sits.

I agree with you Crakgenius, the city was very disappointing. I was thinking of the city being filled with shops everwhere, instead I get two shops, one shop full of fakes, a fortune teller, a hairdresser, an auction house, a theater which absolutely sucks, and an academy which rates you house.

I wish there were wi-fi capabilities in the city, and also more shops, that would at least make it a little better.

Still, I moan about Animal Crossing quite a lot.

What about my ideas?

Yeah it should be bigger with different shops and going to the city with your friends...

But you can't do any of these

they should have made it a BIG place were every wii connects at once and still had an auction house but you can bid everyone's items

umm your neighbors are animals so if you had goldie in your town he could have bought a dog and that would just be wierd

Yea, and have active bids. Instead of waiting for a week to place bids and put items up for bid. -_-

In the Princess Series, there's a birdcage with a bird in it. I do find it a little odd that there are normal birds like this and the one on the message board, but then there are anthropomorphic birds living as your neighbors.

the city was put in to make us want to stay in our towns... thats what i think... i really think it would be so much better if you could have friends come to ur town and then u go to the city... then it would be great... ur ideas are awesome just to say... but there is so much that still needs to be touched by this... like i think that K.K. Slider should own his own bar where he has his other friends play instead of him... then it would be like a cat playing the piano or somthing...
That actually sounds pretty cool, since they can also change the voices abit, (There's the deep voice for a cranky villager, and a female voice) Maybe add a full on band?

The pet shop wouldn't be weird, you can own fish, and such. If they don't look like the villagers, then it'd be fine. Just like having a bird.

Yeah pets would be okay, so long as they aren't dogs or cats. As long as they are small and stay like in a cage or an aquarium, so maybe you could buy reptiles... or turtles. Tortimer might not like that though.
