You can spend bells on Mystery Island Tours?

In reading the release notes, came across this entry:

"Fixes a bug which reduces both the Bells and Nook Miles when purchasing an item during an Island Tour on Mystery Island"

So I knew you could purchase tools for nook miles when you go on the mystery tours, but how do you spend bells?

You can't normally. Wilbur lets you buy flimsy tools using 100 miles. If you clicked into where he talked about tools, he could deduct bells from you. I don't know if it was all the time, but it definitely happened to people sometimes. It sometimes happened when you said no, but sometimes even when you said yes (so it made you pay bells and miles). And once it started deducting, it would deduct even when you talked to him to go back to your island.

It was just a weird bug. I'm glad it's fixed.
