Your dream house?

The combination of my love for the Sims as well as for house shows like Fixer Upper and Property Brothers makes this a complicated question. I love all different kinds of homes! I think realistically, I want to live in an established neighborhood close to the city with tall windows and vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors, as well as enough space for all members of my family to have their own rooms as well as an office for me and my imaginary husband, a library, a formal dining room, and a huge entertainment room. I want it to be surrounded by huge trees and have a large balcony overlooking a huge backyard where my imaginary kids can play.

i wanna live in a van house because they look so small and cosy. i forgot what its called tho

A nice two story house, with extra rooms so I can have a snake room and an office/art studio so I can work from home. I'd want a big roomy back yard to have a nice big garden in so I can grow all kinds of veggies, and have a pupper with space for it to run around with our kids. I love having lots of plants and trees, I would love a well landscaped front yard with flowers and bushes and stuff, big windows, open space, not overly close to neighbors but still close enough to town/schools. I'd love to live somewhere more to the north like Washington or Oregon so I could still be here on the coast and not too far from family to travel for holidays and stuff.

Lovely when I comment on the wrong post, Oops :p

Ideally, I'd live in a small apartment in Japan, with a nice view of the city. Very cosy, a clash of tradition and modern aspects. There would be a small tatami room with a sliding door which would serve as a living room (with the compulsory kotatsu for winter, and a low table with zabuton for summer) with enough room for me to practise my Japanese dance, instruments and tea ceremony (I haven't got any teachers or classes in my area, so I remain self-taught in dance and basic tea ceremony, and I want to learn shamisen or shinobue in the future too, perhaps if I ever come to Japan for a longer period I can sign up for classes). Then my bedroom would be more Western- very small, like my current room, with nothing more than my bed, desk, shelves for all my trinkets and some books and such, and a wardrobe that can store all of my clothes haha. A small and cosy room, with a lilac wall, and a window that perhaps has a view on something like a park, so in the Spring I can see the Sakura, and in the Autumn perhaps the vibrant red Momiji leaves. The kitchen and bathroom will be tiny, I really don't mind; as long as I have space for all my things a tiny apartment is good.

As for location, I wouldn't mind a big city like Tokyo! Very cosy to sit at the kotatsu drinking tea and hearing the cars go by. I'd like to have good transport links, nearby shops- a nearby grocery shop, perhaps a mall that is easy to get to (doesn't have to be nearby- a good transport link is ok). A nearby dango/mochi/wagashi store would be a dream- those are my favourite foods, so I'd love to be able to just dash downstairs and cross the road to get some dango whenever I crave it.

A small, cosy home is enough for me to be happy. :)

If I were to inhabit a concrete jungle region my first choice would be sprawling TOKYO. It's a city that captures my imagination but not as relentless as many other major cities in it's range. Truly a unique city with a distinct energy all it's own. I'd reside within a relatively new building preferably around the 24th floor in a modest apartment with high ceilings to accommodate me. There'd be floor to ceiling windows with a full view of busy expressways which I'd spend hours watching transfixed. Another tall building rises nearby from the dense urban landscape providing a sense of well being in way that is difficult to explain in words.

The location faces east providing exquisite morning light in the land of the rising sun. Open a window slightly and the faint cacophony of city sounds reaches 24 floors above the streets. At night windows can be left without blinds maintaining privacy courtesy of living high up.

The kitchen would be fully equipped, all white with extensive lighting featuring an induction cooktop. Doors are constructed with high quality material fitted with stainless steel door handles creating a very satisfying noise when closed shut, as one would expect.

The bathroom would be rather large by Japanese standards, fully tiled with steam capabilities; all white of course with incredible lighting features. Featuring a glass rainfall shower with a built-in aeration and pH settings— cascading water that repairs cells with every drop.

Walls are soundproofed and very rigid gray concrete flooring means I can blast bass heavy music from an epic sound system and dance like the ancestors did without worry under a pristine nuanced wooden ceiling sourced from Japan. On a rainy day the big sky is gray and a supreme sense of calm and tranquility encompasses. Wooden steps lead up to the second level where the bedroom and smaller more traditional bathroom are located.

The bedroom is behind a single white wall that doesn't actually reach the high ceiling. Bereft of anything except a simplistic bed raised on a solid wood platform sunken into the floor, a matching dresser, pendant lighting, tea preparation area, and a lone orchid. The harsh concrete floor creates a feeling of being grounded whilst gigantic windows let you peer out into the vast cityscape spanning endlessly in all directions with that other nearby building looming heavily. On foggy days Tokyo disappears from sight as clouds accelerate quickly and suddenly you're in the sky.

Fitted with only the highest quality furnishings all of which geometrically eye catching and designed/built exclusively in Japan. The wooden ceilings deserve another mention— forming a connection with nature whilst providing a sense of warmth against diametrically opposing cold concrete flooring. It ebbs and flows throughout the space with LED lighting and speakers built into it.

Ideally a stylish and comfortable apartment in the city, I would most likely live alone (save for an animal or two, u would find a place where they are allowed!) and I wouldn't like it to be too quiet, I'd get paranoid that someone is watching me or is hiding in the distance if I lived in a cottage in the countryside, but I do think they are pretty! This is assuming money isn't an issue of course, so I would probably want the penthouse suite, tall ceilings and big windows to let the light in and to have a beautiful view of the bustling city, this probably sounds really weird but I would love to be able to watch people go about their lives lol! I would like a small library, preferably with easy access to a cosy living room with a large old fashioned open fire and carefully engraved fireplace and plush sofas, great for curling up on! I'd like my bedroom to be quite small as well, with an en suite bathroom though because ain't nobody got time for walking down hallways when you need to go to the loo! Is need security cameras and a high quality burglar alarm though, I'm terrified of living on my own especially at night but I don't want to get married/have children so I'd just have to deal with it and live with the paranoia, hopefully I'd be able to rest assured that I am safe and sound if I have a top quality security system. I'd like a big ballroom type area for a dining room, to deal with my discomfort of always being alone in my apartment I would invite a bunch of my friends over for dinner often and I think a miniature banquet hall would be pretty cool! (I have no idea how this would fit in an apartment, but hey it's just make-believe so it doesn't really matter, right?)

My dream house would be a beach house, I love the beach so much and to live there would be soooooo cool, I would want big open spaces, and up to date appliances.

Old Victorian house in Florida. Close to Disney. I love pretty built ins and stained glass windows. Something historic and pretty.

idk i guess i like old styles but also scandanavian modern styles and simple/clean looks but very open with windows and a lot of wood
i also like retro style homes like 60's and 70's and tudor and victorian styles are cool too
ideally in a fairly cold small town near a big city or close to mountains or water

a craftsman style house. not too big or small, around 3 bedrooms 2 baths, maybe 1,800 - 2,000 sq ft. something with a lot of charming details.

here's a perfect example : )
