I notice that the more posts a person has, their name color changes, as sort of a rank-up.
I know in a lot of forums the post count is Serious Business and creates a hierarchy. And some people go so far as to think they're better than someone else cause of their post count. They strive for superiority and eFame.
Some people see a post count and assume things about this person.
Example: a low post count gets the assumption that this person does not know what's going on and is often ignored. While a person with a higher post count will be more promminent and quoted more often.

These are just my observations from the forums I've been to.

So what's your say on this post-count business? Do you ignore lower post counts? Do you quote more promminent-looking posters?

the first time i got in here i saw everyone with the same respect but it lowered on some cuz they mean but i ignore them xD

Yep, some people are like that especially a certain group <_<

But Im not so YAY!!!!

But its more lack of trust trust than disrespect

More posts = Higher rank = More respect.

That's how I see it.
shouldn't the conent of your character be the thing that gains respect? Not the content of your stats?

sadly this is not true in all forums, I think that here is an example.

Ahem. I don't really care about people's so called "Post-Count" e.g. Mickey, within 2 days, a load of people respected him. And he only had like 50 posts. I respect them by the quality of their posts, not quantity. And their personality, someone could have 2,000 posts, but be a huge jerk, and probably nobody would respect him.

True, I just meant on a first impression. Usually when I see someone with a few hundred posts they surely deserve some respect, I mean they wouldn't have been here this long if they weren't liked.

If a someone has a high post count and they have been here for 3 days, I have no respect for them. Espshly if dey tlk lyk dis

Not all the time, there are the small few who spam to raise they're post count :<

I only give respect to the people I know.. So all the noobs that spam to raise their post count fails to gain my respect.

I've been on enough forums to know better than to judge someone basec on their post count. The post count means very little.
I have no respect for elitists. I've learned to watch people and see if they are good people. I've been on here for a few weeks and can already tell. Superiority complexes aren't very flattering.

I completely agree, there are some people here with high posts counts I don't really care for.

I aslo dno't crae 4 poeple hoo tawk liek dis.

to Chibz: I don't mean to say I only respect people with high post counts, I simply mean that it helps as those with higher posts tend to have been here longer, hence more respect.

I never judge people based on there post counts, at least not in a major way.
