Being a night owl, I didn’t like waking up for school. I graduated high school long ago, but how would you feel about nocturnal school? It would be an option in addition to the regular school hours. Some people are just natural night owls. Maybe a separate nocturnal school for surrounding school districts?

I know I would’ve loved this as an option. I found myself to be more productive at night. Jobs have shifts you can choose from, so it’s just a thought.

As a fellow night owl, I can say I would have loved having an option for nocturnal school. I think it would be nice for teachers to have the option as well. I wish society in general was not so hung up on everyone sticking to the same schedule. Some of us focus better, think better, are more creative and more productive after dark. I could do twice as much work with better quality if I were allowed to do it during the hours that suit me better.

Of course, I do foresee problems with the option when it comes to schools, mainly because you're dealing with young people. At what age would it become an option? What if parents want one thing and the child wants something else? I know my dad probably would not have agreed to let me attend a nocturnal school even as a teenager. It could also be dangerous for kids who need to take the bus to school. There are lots of logistics to figure out if it were to become a reality, but I'm still in favor of it.

I would have loved that. I do just fine with night time... However getting up early always threw me off for the whole day.
Either way, I think online schooling is the "future" though and it will probably be daytime hours.

Would be very cool as an option for college! It would be very beneficial to those who wish to pursue a different career path; probably not easily do-able for them at the moment because both work and school happens during the day time (unless you're working a night shift).

I think the option would be cool for those who want it! I'm a night owl and always have struggled with an early morning routine and waking up early for school/work. (I still do!) Thing is, I don't like having a different schedule to the norm so I'd still attend school at regular hours lol.

I’m all for it. I’ve found I’m always more productive at night, and if they make this an option in my district, I will go crazy. Waking up early has never been easy

That being said, it’s not for everyone. Also, who would be making the decision, the parents or the students? They might have conflicting views and then it becomes chaos for everyone involved.

I worked night shift for a year straight and hated the hours lol, so I'm gonna have to count myself out on this one. I don't see why it shouldn't be an option for others, though, although I have to wonder if the demand and the teachers willing to work those shifts would be enough for them to justify it.

Yeah there's a difference between being a night owl on your own accord and having to do it for work or school. I had to do it for construction with places we couldn't operate during business hours like a hospital. And it sucked.

If there's a way to do it right, I wouldn't mind, but then you also run into the problem of how do you make it safe for those who want to have full time school at night?
