Your Top Villagers

1. From when you first started animal crossing, whenever that was, until today: How much have your "top" Villagers (dreamies) changed?
2. In your opinion, what are your top 20 Villagers? (maybe say a little why at the bottom of your list? )

I remember back when I started New Leaf I wanted Merengue, Julian, Zucker, Kyle, Fauna and Flora. Shep moved in next to my house and I fell in love with him and Punchy. After a while I ended up having an all wolf town.

Now I don't really care for Shep in NH he just doesn't seem the same and they ruined his house (he used to be like a surfer dude)

My Current Top twenty: (in no particular order)
Diana, Genji, Vivian, Tangy, Lucky, Stitches, Lily, Kyle, Julian, Punchy, Sylvana, Marina, Bianca, Zucker, Etoile, Dobie, Hopkins, Judy, Audie, and Raymond

I'm also really loving Ione, Shino and Marlo from the new guys but I'll have to see them in game before I decide if they're dreamie material

Honestly, they haven't really changed much at all. Still Skye, Wolfgang, Chief, etc.. basically all the wolves along with a few others like Rudy, etc.

I like whatever's cute, tbh. I just kinda feel like the villagers are so flat that I don't get attached to any of them anymore. Like, any of them except for Nan could move out and I'd just feel 'meh'.

I do tend to gravitate toward pastel/lighter color villagers, though, so I suppose those are my top favorites.

The first Animal Crossing I played was the GameCube one. My favorite villagers were Fang and Eunice. I still like them both, and I originally wanted Eunice on my island, but then I saw her interior. For some reason it's a laundromat in this game. However, with the new DLC, I'll be able to give her a nice home again, so I hope I can get her on my island eventually. Aside from those two, Lily and Punchy became two of my favorites along the way, and I have both of them on my island currently. Olaf is a new favorite starting from New Horizons.

I think my favorites are Cherry and Moe, they were my first two villagers.... I just recently got Shep and I'm a big fan of his too.

I don't really have dreamies persay because all the villagers are fine by me, but Tutu and O'Hare hold a special place in my heart.

Dom is my absolute favorite villager of all time, but aside from him, I gravitate towards natural-colored and cute.

Roughly, and in no particular order other than the shrimpy jock himself: Dom, Chester, Olive, Marshall, Dobie, Lily, Maddie, Pecan, Poppy, Maple, Bones, Dierdre, Erik, Henry, Kiki, Ruby, Genji, Fauna, Molly, and Papi.

I'm also eyeing Shino from the new update very hard.

1. I originally loved Chops and Midge in new leaf, because they were so close to me. I LOVED the smug personality in NL and Midge was such a sweetheart. Now, Midge is still one of my faves, but Chops? forget about it.


2. Now, my list is probably something liiiikeeee… (in no specific order)

and those are the only ones that have made an impact on me!

My first AC game was AC Gamecube(aka Population Growing)and my top villagers were Pinky,Kiki,Rex and Ace.I still have Pinky and Kiki in New Horizons and would like to get Ace again if it's possible.Currently,here is my Top 20(ish):

Aurora will always be my favorite villager, I also really like all of the penguin villagers. Not sure why but I wasn’t sure about Dom for the longest time but now I really like him and trying to find him for my second island. Cleo I found for my second island and she quickly became a favorite. I used to like apple more then I do now and wasn’t hard to let her leave. Dizzy is another favorite or mine now and even though I recently got his amiibo I am having a hard time letting him go.

Deena was my absolute favourite back in Wild World; she was my favourite of my starters and just so nice. Also I grew to love Octavian, Baabara and Opal as well, others too but those were my standouts.

New Leaf or City Folk I didn't really grow an attachment to any of the villagers sadly.

My New Horizons besties are Julian, Zucker and Anabelle for sure. I had Anabelle back in Wild World and loved her then but now I really love her.

Difficult to rank 20 but if I can do in no particular order probably:

Deena, Octavian, Baabara, Anabelle, Julian, Zucker, Marina, Sherb, Puddles, Lucky, Leonardo, Opal, Cherve, Cherry, Antonio, Bud, Merengue, Lily, Fang and Erik.

I feel like it's inevitable that Shino will end up joining my top 20 though (Etoile too if her amiibo badge ever arrives).

My first AC was Wild World, but I don’t remember anything aside from maybe having Dotty (I donmt think I played it that much). I also tried the gamecube version and I don’t remember what villagers I had at all; also didn’t play it that long.

Lists aren’t really in order except punchy is always number 1.

When I played NL/HHD: over time my favorites became the following: Punchy, Puddles, Kiki, Marshal, Ankha, Gaston, Rosie, Merry, Pudge, Roscoe, Frobert. Cole, Drift, Felicity

Now my top favorites are: Punchy, Rudy, Raymond, Kiki, Lolly, Rosie, Merry, Marshal. Ankha, Dom, Sherb, Gaston, Frobert, Drift, Claude, Cole, Spike, Roscoe (minus singing), Rodney, Tabby.

Some of the new villagers may also be added in time too .

There are honestly a lot of villagers I like and am interested in and I probably have more favorites now but the ones I listed are the ones that come first to mind.

My favorite villagers have changed a lot from what they were in New Leaf to what they are now over a year into New Horizons.

Because of how New Horizons works I've seen a lot more villagers animated in game - thanks to mystery islands, campsite villagers, looking at dream islands and terraformed islands for ideas to use, and having the amiibo function from the beginning of the game. So I've found a lot of villagers that I like seeing animated in game whose charms aren't as obvious from just a picture.
Villagers that are favorites largely because of their expressions, voice, in game animation and how that all comes together with personality traits include Apple, Axel, Marshal, Groucho, Chevre, Jacques, Rodeo, Bella, and Ursala. I don't think any of those would be in my top list if I had only seen pictures of them instead of interacting with them in-game.
Some of these are favorites because their mannerisms/facial expressions/voice pitch bring out their personalities perfectly - like Apple, Chevre, and Jacques.
Some have mannerisms or facial features that make them look cute or shy, and I like these in personalities that have slightly abrasive dialogue because it softens what they are saying. Groucho, Marshal, and Ursala are all in my top 20 for this reason.
I like Rodeo and Bella because they look positively evil and have these mean expressions but are such sweethearts that the contrast is funny.
Axel I like because he's a big fat elephant, but he's still forever smiling and doing his best to keep an active lifestyle. It's kind of inspiring.

In New Leaf I mostly played with people I knew in person and so I wasn't exposed to as many villagers. I had a limited number in my void that I was already familiar with from playing with just those few players. Besides those I was mostly exposed to a small set of super universally popular ones I'd seen with pictures plastered all over the internet. There are still some famous ones that have really stellar designs and so are in my favorites for New Horizons, but this category makes up a much smaller proportion of my top 20 than in New Leaf. That said, Stitches, Ribbot, Merengue, Tia, and Ankha are all still up there and Judy has joined their ranks.

Then there are some that I like the designs but were more obscure, and I found them by visiting islands and collecting amiibo cards. Skye, Julia, Drago, Nibbles, Savannah, and Erik are all new discoveries for me from this game version, even if they were in older games.

I guess I just feel New Horizons...has really broadened my horizons for villagers.

I’ll make this simple and say that I love all dog villagers. My favorites are Mac, Goldie, Bea, and Bones! Mac is my aesthetic. Goldie is my favorite dog breed, a golden retriever. Bea is a beagle, which is the breed of my very first dog. Bones was one of my very first friends on the game. I’ve had amazing interactions with all of the dog villagers. As for my dream villagers, they were chosen based strictly on species and color scheme. I have two wolves and eight dogs. I love all of them equally.

my first animal crossing game was wild world, though i honestly can’t remember which villagers i liked back then except for bones, who i had a crush on for some reason LOL. my new leaf memories are pretty foggy as well, but i adored all of the deers (especially beau, fauna and zell!), skye, lolly, apple, flurry, sprinkle and a bunch of others. back then, out of all of them, my absolute favourite villager was beau. my obsession with him started before new leaf even released in NA, and i loved him to pieces.

i don’t think my taste in villagers has changed all that much since then, but i’m not really a fan of apple anymore, and i’m more willing to have and get to know ‘ugly’ villagers than i was back then. beau also isn’t my #1 favourite villager anymore, even though i still love and cherish him with all my heart. i have a ridiculous amount of favourite villagers nowadays, but i think my top 20 would have to be (in no particular order):

i imagine that this list will probably continue to change for me over time, especially once the update drops and the new/returning villagers are added in (shino and cephalobot are already the lomls aha). the reasons as to why my favourites are my favourites vary — kiki reminds me of my irl black shorthair kitty, tangy is the very first villager that i met during my first night with animal crossing, etc. though, while my reasons may vary, they’re all equally special to me and i love them a lot.

I know my top three for sure: Boris, Hans and Sterling! I also like Knox a lot.

Other villagers I like are: Tucker, Spike, Drago, Ankha, Ribbot, Avery, Rasher, Patty, Tia, Coco, Wade, Cube... I'm sure there are more but that's what I can think of off the top of my head

Poppy, Bunny, and Beardo have a special place in my heart. In New Leaf, the three of them all happen to build their houses straight in a row next to each other by random chance and it was so funny to me. They had their own quirky little neighborhood since most of the other villagers were a bit more spread out. It's actually making me almost want to boot up my New Leaf file but my DS broke, I haven't played it in so long I'd be so freaking sad if one of them had moved out.

Sherb and Dom are both pretty special to me since they were starter villagers I got in New Horizons. Most of my other starters I let move out, but I don't think I can let these two go. If there's one thing I love about New Horizons is that I don't have to worry about my buddies up and disappearing if I don't play for a long time!
