As 2024 is coming to an end, I do have a few questions regarding this year and the decade:

1. How was this year? Was it good, or was it bad?
2. How does this year compare to 2023? Was it better, or was it worse?
3. How was the 2020s decade so far?
4. What was the best part about 2024?
5. What was the worst part about 2024?

Your answers can be based on personal life or large-scale events.

How was this year? Was it good, or was it bad?
It was a better year than the last few, for sure. I was able to get into a much better situation financially. My living situation isn't great at the moment, but it's nothing to do with money. I just don't get along with my mom. If I come across this post in the future, I hope I'm living someplace else now.

How does this year compare to 2023? Was it better, or was it worse?
2023 was trash. This year was much better.

How was the 2020s decade so far?
I foresee it only getting better. 2020-2023 were trash. I have high hopes for the future. I hope that doesn't bite me.

What was the best part about 2024?
2024 was the first year I really took control of my mental health... It was the year I felt in control of my Bipolar, more than it controlling me.

What was the worst part about 2024?
Probably my current living situation... I'm actually happier at work and literally anywhere else than I am here. I hope things change soon.

Probably slightly worse, but still ok

Aside from the whole COVID thing, the decade is going well.

My old job closing down and having to find a new one

1. How was this year? Was it good, or was it bad?

Overall I think it's been a good year for me. This year I managed to get a real job for the first time, graduated from university with a First, and travelled a lot. My first solo trip was a success, I visited South East Asia for the first time, and went on a birthday trip to Amsterdam with my best friend.

2. How does this year compare to 2023? Was it better, or was it worse?
It was better, I think. Though 2023 was pretty good too.

3. How was the 2020s decade so far?
Hmm, not great, mostly due to how horrible the pandemic was for me. The 2020s so far have just been me slowly getting my **** together and realising what i want from life i think.

4. What was the best part about 2024?
All the money I've saved up from this year Fr though, work is annoying sometimes but i think overall getting this job has been good for my personal development, the money has given me more opportunity to travel, etc.

5. What was the worst part about 2024?
We've had a lot of illnesses, health scares, and deaths within my extended family this year, so probably that. I'll have been to 2 funerals by the end of the year, which is a lot for me considering I'd previously only ever been to a couple in my entire life.

How was this year? Was it good, or was it bad?

Although it wasn’t the best year ever, it was the best year of the decade so far. Given my visits to Medieval Times and Rainforest Café, my four hotel visits, a trip to an arcade in Dallas, and a trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science, I can’t think of any better year in the 2020’s decade. Even this forum had some moments that made this year good for me, such as the TBT Fair, the Egg Hunt, and the New Leaf event.

How does this year compare to 2023? Was it better, or was it worse?

It was better than 2023. Not that 2023 was a bad year, but my travel to other places was more limited last year because life got in the way.

How was the 2020s decade so far?

It was sort of the dark times. Alongside with the pandemic, inflation, gas prices, and other large-scale stuff, life wasn’t as good as it was in the 2010s. Since the divorce, we moved to a smaller house and made less money than we once had. Life has changed so much in 2020 everywhere, and I was too slow to accept changes. Oh, and ACNH was a disappointment compared to ACNL. That being said, not all was bad. The last four years (2021-2024) was an improvement after three years of darkness (2018-2020). I also got to graduate college and fly alone for the first time. I also never got to play all or most of my favorite games on handheld until this decade.

What was the best part about 2024?

Pretty much all of August 2024, and obtaining my favorite collectibles isn’t even the best part of the month. It was when I went to Rainforest Café and the arcade in the same mall Rainforest Café was, ending a 18-year drought in Rainforest Café visits.

What was the worst part about 2024?

My ban from the Mollycord server would be this had one of my dogs not went on the road and got killed. I love that dog. I even named that dog. We had her for four years. Now we won’t get to see her again.

Hopefully the next five years of the decade goes well.

1. How was this year? Was it good, or was it bad? It was fairly good for me, in the grand scheme of things.
2. How does this year compare to 2023? Was it better, or was it worse? I'm leaning towards 2023 having been better. I think my Granny was at home for most of the time. Some pretty awesome stuff happened this year though.
3. How was the 2020s decade so far? ...Complex. It started out kinda rough in 2020, then it just went way downhill. Definitely the worst year of my life. 2021 was a huge roller coaster, just tossing me up and down and all around, so much anxiety and crap but there were some positive influential moments ... 2022 started out rough as well and I continued to struggle throughout the year but 2023 was probably the best of these years, a good, solid nice year.
4. What was the best part about 2024? Spending time with my family, going on trips with my boyfriend, seeing the northern lights TWICE, and the Solar Eclipse!
5. What was the worst part about 2024? My Granny dying. Much more the process than the actual death. I'm so glad she was able to finally pass and be free from that state she was in. I miss her so much though.

1. How was this year? A combination of very good and very bad! One part of my life is challenging, and that has been extremely difficult this year. Other areas of my life were really great though.
2. How does this year compare to 2023? Compared to 2023, this year was fairly decent, perhaps a bit better than 2023.
3. How was the 2020s decade so far? Interesting! Started out a bit rough, what with the covid stuff, really hoping it gets better every year. I have a whole list of goals to work on for 2029, lol.
4. What was the best part about 2024? Being on a slightly better financial footing.
5. What was the worst part about 2024? My ongoing life challenge. Sometimes I can get stuck feeling hopeless/helpless. I've gotten a lot better at plowing through the negative feelings and finding acceptance, positivity, and happiness no matter how tough things get. Like that old saying - just have to put the FUN in dysFUNctional. So even though I have my own little corner of hades to deal with, it's my corner, so I'm going to make it a happy hades corner.

bad. not a great start to being an adult.

worse, I'd say.

ehhh. not great. i did meet my good friends in 2020, though.

is it bad i genuinely don't know?

the breakup i went through. but honestly my relationship in general got a lot worse in the later months of this year up until that point

1. It’s been great! Personally, I have had a lot of fun writing and surrounding myself with good people and just generally enjoying myself and my time…something that is precious to me. I feel more at peace overall.

2. Definitely! Idk why, I just felt better than last year.

3. Not the best decade, especially with Covid at the start, but I guess I made the best of it.

4. Hanging out with my little cousin.

5. T man winning. The lack of new movies that look good. Barbie was fun, but Wicked annoys the crap out of me. And I don’t think Twisters or Moana II sound particularly compelling.

1. It was pretty good, definitely my best year since the pandemic began!

2. For sure better than 2023. I met/bonded with so many amazing people and I haven't felt happier in years.

3. COVID happened at the start of the decade, so that speaks for itself, but it did start to pick up around mid-2023 after I got out of my... questionable relationship and friend group.

4. The best part of 2024 was meeting my best friend, who is now like the older brother I never had <3

5. I'd have to say back in February when my province began enacting anti-trans laws. I've never been more scared for my safety and rights (other than the US election ofc, and I'm not even American).
