Do you actually think they're going to talk about Animal Crossing Switch at E3? Something's telling me they won't :/

They might but I don't really care much
I lost interest in animal crossing a long time ago and I cannot get pocket camp

i think they will. they know how hyped up people are for this game. there's no reason they shouldn't show ac

If it comes out this year, they should. A main title getting their first installment in 6 years should be enough to warrant a showing at E3.

I most definitely think they will give us coverage on AC. It may be the last thing that Nintendo shows though on their presentation. They'd be stupid not to show it at E3. Even if they did a direct later on instead, it wouldn't attract as much attention.

I won't be able to see it live anyway because I'm going to be busy that time. Despite my vote, I hope that Nintendo will surprise us all.

Unless a big delay has happened, I expect Nintendo will have at least something to say about Animal Crossing at E3. It's one of their biggest titles for the year and they've kept awfully quiet, so there ought to be something to say.

I think they will, we're six months into the year and they said its coming in 2019 so it'll be coming soon

I believe so. If they don't, well, a lot of people will be disappointed. We've been waiting this long, so I don't see why not.

I feel like they would need to at this point given how long it's been since we've gotten any news. If they don't say anything, I'd be willing to bet that they'll push it back to 2020. I don't really think they have too much to gain by pushing a game trailer back anymore.

Well there's that, and then there's Metroid Prime :T
But hopefully AC won't succumb to the same fate :)

I just can't deal anymore with the negativity on this sub-fora about the game getting delayed and we getting dissapointed.
You can call that realism but that is a pretty pessimistic view anyway. Nintendo has no reason to not surprise us with it on E3 because they already let us know that it's coming. I bet that, if something happend that would accure a delay, they would have let us know already. Why wait with that information to kill your own E3 presentation? Because the AC delay would be the highlight of the presentation and that's not what Nintendo wants.

I understand the negativity can be a little bit of a downer sometimes, but there is logic behind it. You just never know what will happen with Nintendo.

I'm sure if we had held a poll back in September 2018 asking when we would see our first screenshots of the game, nearly everyone would have said before 9 months later! Hell, a significant number of people on here were saying they expected the game to be released by now and look where we are. Never assume anything.

They can absolutely announce a delay in this context -- the exact same thing happened to Fire Emblem:

  1. Announced in 2017 with a release date of 2018 without any gameplay shown (just like AC Switch)
  2. Long period of silence with no information (just like AC Switch)
  3. Gameplay finally shown for the first time at E3 2018 alongside a new date of Spring 2019
They could have chosen to announce the delay at any point before then, but chose not to do so.

Doesn't mean it will happen though -- it's just as likely that the game is revealed next week and released as scheduled -- but it's entirely possible and should not be discounted out of wishful thinking.

By the way, hopefully that is what happens if the game is delayed. Just not showing the game at all would be pretty awful leaving everyone in the dark even more about what is going on. If it's shown but alongside a delay, at least it gives us an idea of when to expect a release and a look at the game finally to be excited about. That's why I ultimately expect it will be shown -- just maybe packaged into a delay too.

At this point, I'm really positive on getting a reveal but knowing Nintendo, anything can happen lul

Honestly even if they don't show AC Switch at E3, I'm still super hyped for Pokemon Sword & Shield gameplay, the Link's Awakening remake, and Luigi's Mansion 3.

Though I do think it would be ridiculous of them to not mention a single thing about the upcoming AC game. Even if it's not being released anytime soon, they should at least tell us some more details besides "oh haha btw a new AC game is comin yall, get hyped."

Excellent summary!

We can also add Yoshi's Crafted World as well as an example of how Nintendo just goes completely silent on things. They announced that at E3 2017, then it disappeared until September of last year where it resurfaced with a release date and stuff.
