A Most Egg-cellent Poll

I'm torn! I will be honest I wasn't really a fan of the different categories for eggs last year and in any other circumstances would much prefer the original way, but there are so many amazing user eggs already I'd love to have as many of them represented as possible. I feel like having the currency in itself makes it so that we can typically only get a few eggs and trading will be required anyway for those who want all the eggs or multiple of the more expensive ones, so further locking users out of half the eggs doesn't make much sense to me. I really love the eggs people have made so far though so I'll need to think on it more before voting

i like option 2 because i had a hard time picking my personal faves, so many amazing creations! with a diff currency sounds great and would allay part of the issues users are bringing up.

I am not sure which to pick so will have to think about it before deciding. I love the idea of more user made eggs and the ones I have seen are all amazing. Everyone is so talented. I worry about the groups of eggs since I picked the wrong basket last year. I like the egg I got but in the end decided I picked to soon.

Big fan of user-made collectibles so I am going with Option B!! We don't get this opportunity very often so more eggs is better

Personally the two egg groups thing didn't bother me too much last year from what I can remember, but I can see why it was unpopular!

More eggs! I get that fewer eggs would maybe be easier accessible etc, but there are soo many good eggs submitted id rather not be able to get some of those egg, and giving more people a chance to get a winning egg, than the other way around

I am blown away by the talented artists here and so far the entries have been incredible. Such a rare opportunity for the artists here so definitely need as many as possible. I’m not keen on the different baskets but if it has to be to give more artists a chance to win

Does choice A mean eggs that would have been picked if B was chosen would be released later or does A mean we would have "a create an egg" event again later?

If it means you'll set aside eggs to release later, can you list them below the 3 winners?

I know personally, I'd like to see them spread out a bit so we aren't in a tsunami of new eggs, but I wouldn't want to risk member made eggs getting lost in time, so a que for member made collectibles could be nice. They don't need dates, just that they'll be launched eventually at some point at any season??

Also, is there any consideration of relaunching a few or pick older eggs via raffle, 1 throwback token, or egg dip configuration (referencing dyeing eggs, but similar to the historic scenery config) in either A or B? I know many members like new collectibles, but it's nice to have a few relaunched now and then due to dates. I don't think they should be the same currency as new eggs if staff is trying to promote trading with B and restricting them would probably be good too.

Don’t apologize! We haven’t ironed out all of the logistics re: how we’d release designs at a later date, but I personally pictured it as something like choosing the 3 winners now and then deciding during the subsequent Easter events which of the other user-made eggs to release, provided the people who designed them gave us their permission. I doubt we’d choose them in advance to be listed alongside the winners and I assume it’d be something to revisit during the next Easter event and beyond.

I can’t promise we’ll hold a future Easter collectible creation contest, though both this + the contest over Halloween yielded some incredible designs so I personally would love to involve the members more often in this capacity.

We have talked about ways in which we could offer rereleases (for eggs and other rare collectibles) but this is another idea that would need some serious ironing out prior to implementation. I wish I could give you a more direct answer but I don’t want to promise anything or really speak on something that’s essentially no more than ideas being tossed around at present. That said, we do hear you all when you say you’d like to see more rereleases and it’s something we will continue to mull over and discuss, even if it doesn’t happen during this Easter event or right away.

I think I am going to think on it a little while longer.. or I may not vote at all and accept what is chosen by the community. Not sure which I'll do. It looks like the poll doesn't end until the 16th and it is only the 11th right now. General anxiety has been high for me lately and it effects making choices, and also for my reason of apologizing
So maybe another day this week will be a better day to make a choice.
Both options certainly have good marks!

I would love to see more user-created eggs but I don't like the groups idea. I kinda see why they were needed last year, and I think it was easier to accept the groups then, since all the eggs were old and there were so many to choose from. But now having limited access to only half of the new eggs would probably feel a bit frustrating. Still, I went with option B.

That was a super hard choice. When it came down to it though, I chose B to give more members their best chance at getting their Egg-cellent creations a chance to become permanent pixels in my lineup. Sorry for the completely selfish choice!!!! lol just kidding! But now in all seriousness, that really was a hard choice where selfish me who is trying desperately to finish my egg collection (right now I’m only missing four total!) and 10 to 12 new eggs versus 5 to 6 new eggs seems so much harder now, there are just so many fabulous egg creations and I know I personally want like 15 to 20 of them!!!! You guys have completely blown me away, and I wish you all the best of luck!!!!

Whether Up to 3 or up to 6, I would not want to be the staff right now as currently there are 71 submissions (91 now at the end of submission time tonight!) and so so so many of them are absolutely phenomenal. I did not include the “extra” eggs although I probably should have ha ha ha. But this in itself is so overwhelming and the creativity so far for this event has been eggxemplary!!!

I think I'm going with A. I've thought about it and while it's nice to have the new eggs out, too many new eggs at a time might be frustrating.

I like the idea that new eggs will return in future events, so there's a chance to eventually collect them all.

The two baskets was a fun way to bring back older collectibles. I did have trouble picking which basket, because while I could have afforded the two specific eggs I wanted individually, I was limited to one basket- and of course they were in different baskets. So i ended up getting some I didn't want as much instead of the top two I wanted. Hope that's not confusing.

Ig I like the idea of more available collectibles, but I'd rather not have to choose between baskets.

The event will run from Friday night to Monday night, and we'll keep the shop open for an additional few days beyond that.

I'll just throw my two cents in and say that maybe there should just be one set of eggs to collect (since having to choose can be difficult, I know I had that issue last year... rip disco ball egg), but I mostly voted for the second option because I like the idea of having six new user-designed eggs. I love seeing collectibles designed by the community! there should be more opportunities like that, but not at the cost of oversaturation, ie. introducing like twelve other new non-user-designed eggs.

Did you know that I had the same idea for the last TBT Fair too? I didn’t tell anyone, but I thought of having three different goodie bags to choose from, which would have different collectibles to buy. All three of the original glow wands were in three different goodie bags, as the feathers, balloons, and others were divided into different bags. But that didn’t happen, as we got throwback tickets instead.

I’d love if next year’s event only had user-designed eggs! The staff makes great ones every year, and they’re my favorite collectible type, but I think the community aspect really suits this event.

Looks like the user eggs are pretty numerous so staff deciding on six vs three will only be a smudge easier.
I look forward to seeing the selection. It will be tricky choosing a basket, I am sure.
