Nintendo failed in one huge aspect of online play: chat. The touch-screen keyboard is faster than the D-pad controlled one, but they are both too slow. The DS has a microphone... why not use it? And why are there no macros? It takes about 10 seconds to type a sentence, making it impossible to play games and chat at the same time. It's a huge waste of time and all the while you can't even move. I dunno, but I think that Nintendo has failed me once again, so what if it's online? It's still not lag-free (eat your heart out, Bulerias) and chatting would be faster if you used interpretive dance.

Nintendo, think next time.

I don't think it's THAT bad. I would have liked it more if you could move while you type, but so what? It's still an amazing game.

Ok, it's not lag-free...but, can you name an online game that isn't? There was barely any there...At least, not nearly enough to get anyone fusterated. Nintendo did a good job of keeping it a low-lag game.

People were saying that it would be lag-free, it's not.

And moving while you type would be hard, few games have you use the D-Pad and Stylus together.

It's lag free for me; I've never experienced any lag, except the extremely rare pause when I try to dig up holes with my shovel online.

But I do agree; voice chat would've been perfect. But it's definitely not as bad as you say, although it is kinda dissapointing.

Its usually lag free for me. Accept if I go to places like Nook's or the Able Sisters in other towns, it might take a second. But it runs alot better than on MKDS for some reason.

whenever i play with Justin, i get a ton of lag for some reason... i've seen people walk through fishtanks in the museum >_>

Go throw your cheap router and 56K connection away, because lag is minimal.
If you dislike the keyboard it's because of your own fault. Go use both of your hands and actually TOUCH the screen, screw the stylus. Get a screen protector if you are scared it will be damaged. I've done it and it cuts message typing big time.

Why not use the microphone, you're right? Oh, but wait, if you hate lag like you do, then get ready to beat your DS to a pulp because it would lag and just maybe it would not be able to have such large bandwith.

Maybe people don't want to let others know their voice.....

Anway, another thing you could add is the limit you have to type. That bugs me....at least there's the Copy and Paste feature.... <_<

As for lag, I've only experienced that once *remembers hitting bob with the shovel then all of a sudden he disappeared*

The chat function isn't perfect, but there are emotes that might help express some of the things you need to say! and besides I think the mic function would suck and tax the game, creating some of that supposed lag...
