ACNH Pet Peeves and Petty Complaints Thread

You can’t build bridges in the most convenient spots because the area is “too narrow”/“uneven”, even when it’s not!
Do you not have terraforming yet? It can be incredibly annoying trying to terraform the area to let you build a bridge there, but I usually can manage it after a lot of building and destroying the river tiles.

The Brake Tapper being a Pocket Camp exclusive item. Even if it weren’t exclusive to Pocket Camp players, it doesn’t function like an actual slot machine (where one tap would start and finish the randomizer).

There also aren’t enough casino-themed furniture like blackjack tables, roulette tables, poker tables, and keno machines.

Pier fishing is so painful because of the fish bait. Its so annoying how you only make a single thing of bait to toss in, only to get Nemo.

I tell you running around your beach looking for clams is so annoying. Why can't it be like fences, where you build multiple in one go. It's annoying, and quite frankly unfair.

To be fair, any furniture item that heavily resembles things you'd find in a casino would encourage kids to gamble, and the game would have to get bumped up in rating due to it (especially if you could actually gamble). Nintendo can get away with the Brake Tapper, as you don't spend or win bells.

Believe me, the ESRB looks at more things than you think. There's a reason why almost every casino-based game that makes you spend real money is rated M, despite how clean it may be. If no real money is involved, they're usually rated T instead. Of course, Nintendo themselves would never implement such a thing, and even if it were all done with bells, they'd most likely enforce a daily limit regardless.

You found Nemo and his long-lost siblings! Looks like they weren't eaten before birth after all!

I bought land to build a house for my camper and Nook sold it to someone else without asking! I'm so mad, I'm planning to move that house far away and kick out that new rude resident.

In HHD, the School gets a Hallway and two Classrooms. In HHP, it gets no upgrades.

In HHD, the Café gets a Dining Area. In HHP, it gets a Gallery.

In HHD, the Restaurant gets a Dining Room and Kitchen. In HHP, it gets a Private Room.

In HHD, the Hospital gets a Reception Area, a Doctor's Office, and a Patient's Ward. In HHP, it is the same.

In HHP, the Apparel Shop gets one room. In HHD, the Department Store, which IMO is a direct parallel to the Apparel Shop, gets an entrance, two sales floors, and a dining area.

I do not understand why they couldn't give the School the same upgrades as HHD, and why they couldn't do the same for the Apparel Shop, especially after people complained about the small stock of Nook's Cranny. Like, they could have had the department store, and given "1x1 item location", "2x2 item location" and the like. I'd love to have a department store with rotating stock.

I designed my Apparel Shop after a Target store, and I think doing the full building with other departments like that would be fun.

Happy Home Paradise feels more lifeless compared to Happy Home Designer.

My #1 is probably the fact you can only buy most items in bundles of 5 like customization kits or flowers. The reason it bothers me more then anything else is the fact that you can buy turnips 4000 at a time if you want. So the functionality of buying things in mass quantities already exists in the game, but for some reason Nintendo decided thats only good enough for turnips, not for anything else. Its like bruh the solution is right there! But just out of reach.

I hate when it comes to laying/moving buildings that there is no guide. In the next game, I would like to see an overhead view with a square guide so that if we want the houses in a straight row, we can! It really annoys me when I look at my map of Sapphire and the houses are ever so slightly out of sync.

I feel you. This drives me crazy. I would love something similar to HHD/HHP, while you could move, drag place items accurately. I know a town is a lot bigger than a house room, but maybe per square acre would be good? ^^

Yea sometimes it’s hard to judge if the houses are in a row or if they are one square off. I have been using patterns to try and make my own guide. It’s not perfect but I find it helps.

When you place an item: There is not enough space... OF COURSE YES THERE IS. And when you do a bit away, the item is not stuck to the structure, so YES there was enough space!
When you try to build the three first houses: because you need place around, they say all the time "too close to the beach, to the cliff"... My island layout is TERRIBLE for the three first houses and I wanted them to be on the right side to decorate the left side. Terrible. Because I have cliffs everywhere.
The rest of the island is nice though. But for these three houses, I had problem.

Yea I had a problem with placing those houses too. I recently restarted my second island and wanted to place them on the beach but kept being told no there is no space. It is nice that I will be able to move them later after I get terraforming and can fix up the areas for them . I think I would be madder if I couldn’t move the houses later.

If it helps you any, villager houses are 4 across and 3 deep. Player houses are 5 across and 3 deep. What I'd recommend you do is create a custom design that is a bright color or something that stands out, and put them down on where you want the houses to be before you move them. You can do this without the island designer app if you go to the custom design slot on your NookPhone and select "place on ground", but it'll take a longer time as you have to keep opening and closing the phone as you move around.

Thanks! But I was talking about the three first houses you have to build, for peppy, normal and lazy villagers. They need more space for the items you have to display. And I definitely don't have that space on the right side of my island so I had to put them somewhere else. That's too bad. However, for future houses, I'll have there the space in this part of my island!
