Adding onto the above couple comments…before it was released NH showed how interactive the villagers are with the environment and proceeded to show examples. What caught my eye was the instruments. When the game came out I built a concert area as quickly as I could, because in my head I saw all my villagers there having a jam session.
Reality: I think I’ve found a lone villager in there playing with an instrument maybe twice lol

Another missed opportunity: guitars and brass instruments as handheld items. We’ve got the tambourine, so it’s entirely possible. I would have loved for my villagers to hold guitars and such. I’m hoping this is considered for the next game.

I never fully understood why Nintendo didn’t just copy the Photopia controls into HHP. I kind of get that they don’t want players uploading inappropriate stuff onto the Network, but it just makes taking photos more of an unnecessary challenge.

so turns out this is a really fun and nice outlet to get to be “angry” or “annoyed” and complain about stuff but have it actually be completely unserious. I’m nothing if not wordy so whoops! it’s a liiiiittle long but here are my goofy little mini rants lmao

(also I’m still only slightly past being fully a newbie so if any of these are just me missing something please let me know lol)

- the sound design in the game is so lovely but please, just let me turn off the “Wahoo!” every. single. time. I catch. anything. I’m begging, I keep putting off or avoiding fishing cause I need the sound on for it but then it’s just “wahoo!…..wahoo!……wahoo!….wahoo!” (ESPECIALLY let me know if I’m missing something on this one!! “Wahoo!” is enemy number one)

- please let me store things, please? I just want like little chest type furniture, like even if it only holds a couple items, just an option to store something in the area I want it without having to drop it on stuff. I was so sad when I realized I couldn’t have a little extra stock IN the stalls, just the top counter. Like I just want my like farm stands or orchard/crop area to be able to store some harvest back stock rather than my home storage being crowded with produce.

- I realize that terraforming alone is already a questionable amount of power to be trusted with lmao, but like if you’re letting me play god at least let me go full send! Specifically I mean how you can’t change the shoreline area. Like I feel like yeah fair restricting us from crazy extending our grass, but it could be fun to bring the beach up farther if you wanted to. But mainly I just want to be able to make like liiiittle tweaks, like even if I’m limited to a block or two. Like idk if it’s just me but there’s always a spot or two where I just want to make ~~~ into ~-~ lol, just one more square before you switch from zig to zag

- and last and smallest lighthearted complaint: Brewster why won’t you let me just sit in the cafe and chill with you? Ok lmao, elaborating on what the heck I mean: I always liked Brewster well enough (I mean I have him to thank for my love of gyroids) but my first island when I was just experiencing the game for the first time I didn’t know about a lot of the things not directly told to you so now since I restarted and talk to him everyday I love him, he’s my boy (no seriously, it feels criminal I didn’t give him and Sable their daily attention the first time around, every new dialogue I walk away thinking “yup I’m pretty sure I’d die for you”) and also when I’m like messing with custom designs or something on the nook phone I always feel a little weird that my character is just randomly standing in whatever area so I was like omg I’m going to go sit my character down in the cafe and they can adorably keep Brewster company while I’m monkeying around! Welp turns out every seat is reserved besides the one you only sit in to buy coffee, ngl I took it a smidge personally lmao, like come on man I thought we were homies

The goddamn tools that break all the time. I get it for the rudimentary ones but apparently even the gold ones end up breaking. Pls.

+ the fact that you can't DIY bridges, even a really basic one like the first you get. It's incredibly annoying to use the perch. I can't wait for my island to have however many bridges it needs lol.

why do i have to take diy recipes i already have? why can i not refuse them?... why can you refuse diy recipes you don't have but not ones you do have? it's so annoying.

Gold tools should be end game and shouldn’t ever break. It defeats the purpose of earning them and busting your hump hope they change that in the the next game

I forgot if I've ever said this before, but I really wish the game had some sort of indicator to tell us if we had an item in our inventory when buying stuff from a shop or the catalog... I especially find it hard when I'm ordering clothes from the Able Sisters. I can never remember which colour variations I have and end up buying duplicates I don't need like more than half the time lol.

Noticed this thread while I was already stewing on the thought, but oh my god, let us craft from storage if the crafting bench is in our house or if a shed is placed next to a crafting bench.

I'm positive that this has already been said, but just had to let that out real quick cause it was driving me kinda nuts.

Recently I got around to decorating a couple of spots on my island that I had neglected, and I'm annoyed that the windmill from New Leaf and City Folk doesn't seem to be in this game. It would have been perfect for a particular area I was working on!

Also, the fact that villages keep sitting on the paths - which are closed off with fencing and shrubs - even though I have like 20 benches on my island

I wish they gave us more custom pattern slots. This one dream address I like uses a lot of pavement, window, patterns, I can’t help but wonder how they can have enough slots for other things. I’m trying to do my jingle’s workshop and needed to download some qr codes; it’s tough since most of my pattern slots are filled and idk which ones I’m using and not using in a HHP design and elsewhere.

Why can’t I have Able sisters item stay in my inventory after purchasing it. I was going to give someone a shirt until i realized it was in my storage, unfortunately i gave them a fish instead because i couldn’t find the item i was going to give.
