I guess so? Like I don't really see it as a problem or anything and I don't really think much of it when I see it. For many cases it may just be easier or "better" to have a plush with you than a support animal. I also have a friend who is an adult and takes a plush with her to work and in public sometimes because it just helps her cope with stress. Whatever works.
I also grew up in a time where many adults had an army of TY beanie babies in their cars, entertainment cabinet, or work desks so I just don't think much of it. I also had a grandma who was really into furbies and found them so interesting and cute when they came out.

I wouldn't carry any of mine around with me since I'd be too worried about losing or damaging them somehow, but I don't see why this should be a problem. I think the notion that being an adult means giving up on things you found fun or charming when you were younger is a pretty silly one—life's too short for that. It's totally harmless and if it makes someone feel more comfortable or happy, I think that's a really good thing. Heck, I think I'd also feel more at ease around someone carrying a plushie with them—it just doesn't give off a very threatening image, y'know?

As long as it’s not musty smelling or whatever, bring that stuffed animal wherever you need to! 💜- carrying it around with you isn’t harming anyone and your comfort is important.

Anyone can carry their stuffed animals around if they want to! It's not bothering anyone, and people can have them for their comfort or happiness!

I used to carry around a stuffed animal around my backpack in school so when I get very anxious or overwhelmed, I can open my backpack and hold it to comfort me.

this is basically what I do now, I bring them around in a backpack when I'm going somewhere for a few hours or more for comfort :)

oddly enough I never carried one around in my backpack in college. probably because I just recently became more self aware about my issued and what I can do to make them more bearable. I def had a bunch of plushies with me in my dorm though.

i personally dont carry a stuffed animal with me because i hate the thought of it collecting outside germs. but if that wasn't a problem, you bet i'd be carrying one of those little dudes in my backpack lol

the closest currently i have is a cute rubber panda keychain that's nice to hold. but i also hate the thought of that getting dirty, so i barely take it anywhere...

Yes like me. I carry this one plush everywhere and mostly everyday. It feels wrong when l don't. I do eventually want to have a special bag for him because he's medium size.

I have a snake that is taller than 2nd floor to ceiling in my house that has normal height ceilings and it has that smell because it's huge and idk how to wash him properly.

Does carrying your son's plushies for him count? Because I do that all the time.

I would say no because carrying a stuffed animal and walking with a child is pretty much considered okay since (I assume) people will understand that you're carrying it for your child. whereas if you're an adult walking around by yourself carrying a stuffed animal it's a totally different scenario (though it really shouldn't be that big of a deal, idk why people think it's so awful).

also I have to say I'm so glad that over 95% of people here agree with me. I hate that there's stigma on things like this, like as long as I'm not bothering anyone why shouldn't I be allowed to bring my fox plushie/s with me wherever I go?

I personally don't collect stuffed animals or carry anything of the such on my or in public, but if it's something someone wants to do and it brings them some happiness, who am I to judge? I do Civil War reenactments because they're fun. I haven't done them in 2 years due to the pandemic and the events being canceled until further notice, but that's not everyone's thing.

Life is too short to get worked up over something that isn't harming me in any way or form. So do what you like to do, so long as it's not causing anyone real trouble and ignore the people who can't mind their own business. I have people who bust my chops for doing reenactments quite a bit, but it's best to ignore them.

I personally don't take stuffed animals with me in public, but I don't see anything wrong about it. Obviously, it is completely fine to collect stuffed animals as an adult because there are many grown ups who collect plushies as a hobby. Some of my colleagues bring their plushies to work and nobody judges them. To say that adults shouldn't collect stuffed animals is like saying that cartoons are only for kids, which is nonsense. Just do whatever you want and if people judge you for having stuffed animals or carrying them in public, that's THEIR problem and not yours.

I have a collection of Webkinz and Pokemon plushies and I'll post them on these forums soon so you guys can see them.

I don't mind if anyone does! I personally don't but I do have many plushies in my home, especially on my bed lmao. I carried one around camp when I was a kid and brought one to school before too, even then people thought it was weird. I hope that doesn't happen with adults, people should do what they want as long as it isnt harming or offending anyone (like toys with insensitive topics, pretty self-explanatory). otherwise, you do you.

I've seen so many videos where adults with mental health issues are proudly taking their stuffed animal(s) everywhere and it's visible that it helps them a lot. People will always judge, no matter what you'll do / wear / take with you. Do what makes you feel comfortable. I don't see a problem with it at all. :)

I would definitely love to see them!! most of what I collect is Webkinz, they're such nice and high quality plushies. it's too bad they stopped making them in 2019.

That’s not something I see everyday but when I have seen it it’s not something that I would ever judge someone on(appearances should not be judged on in general). When I made my squirtle at build a bear I happily carried him around the mall. I’ve seen many adults carrying their build a bears around the mall and nobody even looks twice.

It really depends on how they hold it.
If it's like a backpack or they hold it with both hands sort of like an action figure I think it's totally acceptable.
If they hold it by its hand or something (think of Linus and his security blanket) I'd be a little weirded out.

I think so! It shouldn't really be anyone else's business.

I'm *technically* an adult, more like a baby adult, and my dad has complained that it's a waste of money to buy plushies. My mom loves that I'm still into those things. Regardless, I love all my plushes. Right now, build a bear and rilakkuma are my favorites. My build a bear got me through a time when my anxious attachment made life crippling, and I'll forever be grateful. I don't take them into public but wouldn't judge if anybody did- I understand how helpful they can be

I think people should do what they want and what makes them feel comfortable. I don't carry a plush animal in public but I do have a couple in my house. I take books everywhere and knitting projects.
