Pokémon Alolan Regional Variants

Alolan Vulpix because it's just so adorable!

I like all the others too even though Alolan Raichu makes no sense at all. Apparently they became this way because they ate too many sweet puffy pancakes? Yeah...

I was ultimately left feeling rather underwhelmed by Alolan Form Pok?mon. Considering how much hype they received prior to the release of Sun & Moon, I was expecting more Pok?mon to receive them. I guess that's partially on me, but for as big of a deal as they were made out to be there sure weren't a whole lot of them. Like the fusions of Kyurem, I'm left disappointed in the potential they just left to rot on the vine. There feels, to me, a very large gap between what we received and what could have been.

My favorite is probably Alolan Muk. First and foremost, I'm a fan of regular Muk and the new Hidden Ability for Alolan Muk, Power of Alchemy, is really neat. I'm not very fond of the "claw" and "teeth" crystals that they added to Alolan Grimer and Muk, but I love the alternating multicolor design.

Alolan Marowak is probably my second favorite Alolan Form since I'm a fan of normal Marowak and the Fire/Ghost dual-typing and fire dancer inspired design is really cool. I think it's really dumb that you can't evolve a regular Cubone into a regular Marowak in Alola if you so chose and that they didn't give it a special evolutionary condition, but oh well.

Alolan Ninetales and Alolan Sandslash are both nice to see. Alolan Ninetales looks very nice and I'm a fan of the Ice/Fairy typing.

Alolan Golem is pretty neat thanks to its Hidden Ability of Galvanize.

Past that, I'm not really all that interested by any other Alolan Forms.

Alolan Dugtrio is pretty all right I suppose. I like the goofy surfer look but other than that it doesn't really do much for me.

I like that Alolan Raichu gave Raichu a breath of fresh air since I'm disappointed in how Raichu has been treated over the years, but if I'm honest, I don't care about Alolan Raichu very much. I'm just glad to see it surf out of Pikachu's shadow for the first time in a long time.

I prefer regular Exeggutor over Alolan Exeggutor. The Grass/Dragon typing is interesting but that's all I really have to say about it.

Finally, not really interested in the Alolan Raticate or Alolan Persian evolutionary lines and prefer the ordinary versions.

I think most of the Alolan form Pokemon look dumb. The only ones I like are Vulpix and Marowak. Marowak is weird though because he is a ghost and a fire type, but the one I am training only has ground moves right now.

Marowak's moveset just didn't appeal to me. I'd planned for him to be in my Elite 4 team but ultimately ended up replacing him with a Salazzle.

I heckin' love Alolan Exeggcutor because it looks so silly, and the shiny Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales look good with shiny otherwise they are just a bunch of ice clouds honestly.

I do dislike Alolan Meowth/Persian though, they ruined like all aesthetics and stuff ugh lol.

I love the designs and concepts for Alolan Marowak and Vulpix/Ninetales. However, I was saddened to find that both of them were very weak in-game. It's just Generation VII logic, I suppose. I hope they can be brought to new games and hopefully play better.

I have to disagree. Both of them are actually quite good if you know how to use them, and see a good amount of use competitively.

I don't play competitively. I'm just going off of how they fared for me playing through the main game of Sun.

Accidental double post because of the forum going down for a few minutes. Ignore.

I tend to see how Pokemon do competitively as well, but I also like comparing that to how they do in the game. Idk
