I don't have any of the amibo cards and i love the mystery island system, i will most likely buy the Sanario ones soon so i can delete all the extra stuff that i have from them which i am currently not using but could have easy access if needed.

There are so many series and so many cards, like roughly 300-400 cards ? 🤯, what you guys think, is it a fun little investment or a complete waste of my time and money ? Im not sure if i should start assembling them, i wish we could have digital cards and buy the in the store, cause 400 cards its a bit too bulky for my taste also. Ach im super indecisive 😫!

If you have the money and the means, collect them for sure as they can be used in all iterations of Animal Crossing and the older the card gets the harder they come by. Thank God they reissued but who knows when the series 5 goes on to and then to more series, the older cards might get harder to come by.

My advice only pick out villager amiibo cards that you like the best. Ones that you can use of the villagers you like whenever you feel like inviting them to your island if you feel like you've wasted all your nook mile tickets and cannot find that one villager that seems to never appear. You don't really need to own all of the cards (unless if you're a collector) but just pick up amiibo cards that you feel work best for you.

i love amiibo cards, i always get the official 6 mystery pack because im not a fan of knock offs. they’re $6 a pack, i don’t think they’re a waste if you have the money. so far i have 29 amiibo cards from series 1-3 including the sanrio cards, i have yet to come across a duplicate which i know i will one day. duplicates are the only bad thing about collecting but you can always trade them.

I have the money, but no means. I think that it's practically impossible to get all official cards in Singapore. I looked everywhere, and it's just unofficial this and fake card that. Ugh, I'm willing to pay large sums for every card, period, but there's no one out here that has such a collection, an official one.

I tried my luck looking on eBay, but I don't think they would ship them here.

My opinion on these Amiibo cards: they're pretty neat and convenient. Makes it easy to summon whichever villager you want, and definitely very convenient if you want to do giveaways like me. I'm more interested in acquiring villagers for use than I'm into the whole 'collecting hobby'. lol Was never really a collector myself. I'm someone who's more pragmatic.

I liked collecting time; I got most but still need more of the Welcome Amiibos (sadly no luck finding them). I still prefer mystery islands over using the cards to move in since it takes away from the fun of meeting new villagers and being surprised who you find.

I don’t think I have the money for the next ones though I think my mom might be willing to get some for me (hopefully they are only one pack or they take more precautions against scalpers); I will feel bad for asking regardless.

i prefer the official ones over the home made ones.

I did most of my collecting during NL. I enjoyed it, especially when I obtained a favorite. I’ve also traded cards w folks on here, which was really helpful when I was only looking for a particular card or two from the series. And I’m glad my extras were able to help someone else out! :)

Try this, they have legit sellers and they are Australian versions but they are the same as American amiibo. Each box is almost complete set of amiibo cards per series. I bought Series 3 and i completed everything

I saw they are shippping worldwide too...

Just bought all of them. They'll take a pretty long time to ship here though (up to January in four separate deliveries). lol Thanks again for the tip!

I collect them and definitely think they’re well worth the money. I just regret not buying them sooner honestly. (I just finished my collection two weeks ago, abs man looking through them all makes my heart happy) (note: I didn’t bother with the welcome amiibo because they’re so expensive and I already have all the ones I would want on my island minus Vivian)

Welp, after looking it up on the forum, since the mods' official stance is that you can talk about unofficial cards, just not offer information on their whereabouts, I guess I could talk a little about the ones I'm going to acquire tonight while I wait for my real ones to be shipped here in January. lol

Like c'mon, I can't wait till January to get all those villagers I want, so these unofficial cards will have to do for now. Even these can be hard to get as the guy I'm buying from is missing a few cards (he's giving away Sanrios for free though; ironic). Cost me $650, and the official ones I bought from eBay cost me $1100+, making it almost $2000 worth of spending on cards alone. lol

Yeah, I really spent big on Animal Crossing alright. Probably worth it though. Probably.

I like them, if I had the money I would buy a lot but unfortunately I don't, so I just have a bunch. I was really happy when they restocked the Sanrio cards, I managed to get one pack at the original price. Now they are more expensive.

I was surprised because the box basically allowed me to complete all the series plus lots of duplicates. The shiny hologram ones are the duplicates you get with this pacakge. I think I have 26 of them duplicates. It is definitely worth it. Oh yay!! I hope you get them soon. MIne was supposed to be here a few months from now but I got early delivery notice. at 650 for all four series is not bad considering that one series alone here could cost you like around 300 each...

Just look at my other thread here on what it looks like ...the one that says series 3 done...

Yeah if you have the money go for it.

As for me I have a binder, and a container that’s full of duplicates that I have no idea what to do with lol

I would say go for it if collecting is your thing. Nobody can tell you what you can or cannot spend your money on. Personally, I have only purchased the Amiibo cards of villagers that I was trying to get. I am not much of a card collector myself, but you could have some fun with it. My advice would be to get a binder and store the cards in there. That gives you the option to separate the sections so they are easier to keep track of. For example, you could also get some transparent sleeves that go in binders (at a loss for the names of those at the moment) and create covers for each section. It adds some personalization to your collection as well.

I recently bought some when Target had them for sale. I really like most of the ones I got even though I didn’t get any penguin amiibo cards. I thought about getting some more but they sold out before I could decide. It would be nice if you could buy just the ones you want from Nintendo. I was going to buy some from Amazon but the shipping price was crazy.

If I could ever find them i'd buy em...........

Where are they usually located in the Target store?

I did buy a set of 99 unofficial mini cards off Amazon for like 30.00. Worth every penny imo.

i used to be a bit of a card collector growing up. yu-gi-oh, a couple pokemon ones, moshi monsters, doctor who. i was even into the sticker book equivalents for a long time. i grew out of it though. i'm a tight spender and amiibo cards aren't even close to making the list of things i would waste disposable income on, but that's just me. if you're really into card collecting, don't think you'll regret the purchase and can definitely afford it with money leftover, then go for it. nobody else is in a position to tell you what you can or can't buy. (well, unless you're in financial straits.)

i did get a couple of packs with my sister a few years ago, but we never pulled anyone that we were really in love with. all the cards i have for my favorite villagers were bought individually from ebay, and they're all official aside from vivian, felyne and our shared set of sanrio cards. since i'd never use 90% of the cards, i've never been interested in trying to collect the entire set, especially since there's 400+ cards or so. not to mention that it's all up to chance, and there's a decent risk of duplicates. obviously there's a card trading forum here that can combat that slightly, but even so. it might be worth looking into getting cards for your favorite villagers and just leaving it there if you're unsure, but official cards can be pretty pricey depending on which villagers you're after. i think the most i spent was £15 for coco or lolly, and i'm grateful i'd already received marshal for free from a trader on reddit because his card was ridiculously expensive. (although my sister now has a villager token for him anyway.)

I had mine shipped but I know the Sanrio cards were with the Nintendo switch games.

I do have some mini cards and looked into getting some more but didn’t see the ones I was looking for. I had found a couple of penguin amiibo cards the real ones but when I went to check out they wanted 40$ just for shipping.
