Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Info Thread

Fauna and Chief confirmed already, yass, 8 to go :p

A lot is releasing in Autumn, that's when my birthday is :D

I really hope these new things shown are basically teasing new decoration features/items for the next mainline Animal Crossing game

- - - Post Merge - - -

Pretty excited for them. I collected the AC eReader cards too, but these ones are a little more useful.

I really should get those

still have my eReader and like jumping into Cube Crossing from time to time, so they could get use

plus they'd just be cool to have imo

though cost and the lack of sellers is kind of an issue lel

Bold Move, But...

Heya, guys! I know this is probably a bold move/thought but have any of you ever thought that this new game, is just a bit of DLC that will be added to New Leaf, or something like that? What evidence do we have? Well, the graphics of the game haven't changed one bit, the game looks exactly identical and would Nintendo really release a game that doesn't have any cosmetic changes, even? I don't think so, so I think my hunch of this only being DLC seems fair. What do we think? Hopefully I'm making sense...

there's actually new stuff though, and I don't see how it'd really work as DLC since the gameplay is noticeably different enough (maybe including the new furniture pieces as a bonus to people that also have New Leaf, but that'd be it really. the game itself would still be a separate thing that doesn't need New Leaf to function)

it will use New Leaf assets+have new ones, but that's kinda it I think. I'd be surprised if it even had every piece of furniture in New Leaf along with (non-design) customizations. of course giving a special bonus/deal to people that have New Leaf already might be a possibility, I can't see the game being required for it

though I do hope at the very least it lets you use your player character in the game if you do own a copy of New Leaf

Yeah, I hope so! Do you think the chances of there being an Animal Crossing for Wii U have gone bust now? :(

No.

Obviously this is a spin-off and just a small little thing to tie us over until...well whenever the Wii U version gets announced/released.

nope

in fact if anything, I bet the new stuff in this game is teasing new features for the next mainline Animal Crossing title

Oh, that's great! Hopefully we'll hear words of it at E3, maybe or after this one has released. What is a spin off title, then? I must not have a very good definition of it, as I just thought it meant an unofficial one that's just there to raise publicity.

pretty much a game that differs from the norm of the franchise noticeably enough, either being smaller scale or a completely different concept

so Mario Party/Kart/sports games/etc are all Mario spinoffs (mainline games being the platformers) and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon would be a Pokemon spinoff for examples. really not sure of something that would fit as similar to this game (Link's Crossbow Training perhaps?), but considering house decoration seems to be the only thing its pretty safe to count it as a spinoff

of course there are exceptions, but its generally only with really old games such as Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA) and Zelda 2, and even these still had some of the basics (though even if they didn't, they would still be counted as mainline due to their titles)

Because the only thing better than designing your dreamy's house is designing your dreamy's house, then having a giant dreamy clone party?

Not sure, but regardless, the mental picture of 10 Marshals dancing around and singing is hilarious. :)

It's taking love to a whole new level!

I'm skeptical of any sort of news, especially gaming news, which comes out on April 1st.

Either way, I'm not too interested. -_-

I don't think it would let you have more than one of the same villager to decorate house for and visit themselves...I think either a full set or sets in separate times of different villagers like numbered sets so you don't pay for the same you can't use as are scanned already. I also keep seeing people say in your house, but it is once you scan a card from what I see you decorate that villager a house then can scan another to visit and do their house...you may likely not have a house. They are likely going to do another mini between now and the new console coming out for 2018 to tide us over but none for wii u at this point in it's lifespan people aren't going to buy a new wii u for a new game when it's this old and they know that. Some never got u as already had all wii at the time, and have been holding for the new machine. But I like them giving little mini games until then for right now the most popular system. Handheld is making a big comeback, a console is a big investment and they are working on that new one now so I don't see another new non ds based AC spin or game until the console comes in a couple years. Likely many more little minis maybe one a year. Guessing.

For those who don't know, this is a game that requires the announced Animal Crossing amiibo cards to play, where you design houses for villagers based on their requests. It's for the 3DS, released in Fall with the 3DS amiibo scanner.

The official press release info is as follows:

Villagers

New Furniture

Ooh....sorry, it's just so hard to believe because...y'know...April Fools...

I am excited for anything AC that I can get, once there is a solid release date and I can set up a preorder then I will get excited. I was excited to learn about the new 2018 console, so am not surprised they would do a supplement of some type before then, but it could have been a tease of a more interactive and larger game which would be cool. I don't think we would all be guessing so much if we weren't excited, but I am sure they are looking at response to the announce and likely laughing. I think it is probably more detailed considering the loyal fan base of how the game operates and the interaction being taken out may be a joke, but even if not I'm sure we will most of us end up getting whatever it is if we can.
