Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer: This new game in the Animal Crossing series focuses on the decorating and home-designing aspects of the Animal Crossing games. Animals will ask players to design houses for them, and it’s up to designers-in-the-making to meet the animals’ requests by furnishing and decorating their homes. By tapping a new Animal Crossing series amiibo card to the New Nintendo 3DS XL system or NFC reader/writer accessory, players can design a room for that specific character on the card and scan additional character cards to invite those characters to visit. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer will launch this fall.

I don't care that it's a spin-off, I enjoy decorating rooms in ACNL so this looks fun.

But does the card system mean that you'll need to keep buying cards to keep having houses to decorate? That sounds annoying.

I don't think you need the new 3DS, I've seen that they're going to release a card reader for people with a regular 3DS.

you can play it with the normal 3ds too but you need something to scan the cards

I was writing my post as I was watching and jumped to submit a post. I felt silly after seeing the whole segment, and went back and edited what I said. Im really glad its not just for the new one because Im sure I wouldnt be the only one who'd be bummed out if it was..

Will there be an actual town in this game too? Maybe a town, but you can't customize it, it's just to get to a certain villager's house? I hope so...

I personally am pretty excited when anything Animal Crossing related comes out, even if it's a little spin-off like this. Plus, I love decorating rooms for my villagers in the regular games so I think I'll definitely enjoy this once it comes out.

It's definitely very cute, however, it doesn't substitute a full-blown new game. I think they might be hyping us up though with this game, the plaza, and the DLC for MK8.

I love decorating houses, so I REALLY wish this feature was in New Leaf. It looks pretty fun, but I'm sort of disappointed. I don't think I'll buy a whole new game, a NFC reader, and special cards just to arrange furniture :/

If it was a mobile app or something like that I'd totally get it though. But for the 3DS it doesn't really seem worth it. Oh well :c

Lmao anyways though - I love designing homes and all that, that's the only thing I ever did in the Sims! I'd probably buy it, but I feel like it'd get boring real fast since that's the only new feature. Hopefully we will get a Wii U announcement sometime, that's something I'm really looking forward to.

i didnt expect animal crossing for the wii u, or really any announcement. i'm so excited for this. since ive been a fan of AC since 2004, it's nice to see another version of the game come out, along with it being put into smash bros and mario kart. it makes me really happy and im so excited to play this game!! im so happy, my jaw dropped when i saw the announcement on nintendo direct because i really didnt expect to see any animal crossing game on nintendo direct today

I'm not particularly excited or disappointed by this announcement, but it seems like this could be pretty funny at times. How will the animals react if you put a toilet next to the stove?
