I no longer have the game, but yes. When you put that much time and effort into creating something epic, like an entire town, you can't help but feel something.
You form friendships, even though it's a game, you greet these villagers every day as they've become part of your extended family.
It's like a second life that you sink in to.
An escape from real life problems and frustrations.
You can fish, catch bugs, dig up fossils etc. It's really amazing when you think of all the detail in this superb series!
I have loved Animal Crossing since Wild World in 2005. It has frustrated me. Made me hurl my (old) ds into the wall more than once, but it has bought me more joy than words can convey.
Yeah. Animal Crossing makes me emotional.

My partner and I met solely because of Animal Crossing (and these forums) so it has extreme emotional significance to me
